SOURCE: I have a Craftsman 32cc weed trimmer, can't give gas, it stalls

Usually the diaphram is wore out. It is a relatively inexpensive part. Does it run better with a little choke? If the answer is yes chances are it's the diaphram. Also sometimes the adjustment screws can move. There are two, one for low speed, and one for high. With the engine warmed up make small movements on the screws (some are marked low, and high) in, and out adjust til the engine runs at its optimum.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: weed eater bogs down

Under what conditions does it bog down? When it just idles? Cold or hot? When you give it gas? When you try to cut?

SOURCE: How to remove the carburator from the Ryobi SS30

It may just need a G & D kit installed. That is a gasket and diaghragm. Just take the 4 Torx screws out of the rear cover and remove it. You will then be looking at the choke plate assembly which has 2 long screws that go through the housing of the carb and screw into the rear crankcase cover/reed valve assembly. Pull the 2 fuel lines off (noting where they went) and you'll have it. Once you have the carb off, you can get the manufacturer and model # off of it and order a kit. The G&D kit will probably fix what ails it or you can go for a complete rebuild and get a rebuild kit. If the carb is a Zama or Walbro, they sell the kits on Ebay.If the carb has brittle diaghrams inside, replace them; if they are still soft and pliable, then you may only need to clean the carb real well and adjust the H and L mixture screws. They will be plainly marked, but are difficult to remove. Post back for more help!

My Craftsman V20 battery powered weed-eater starts and stops after about 3 seconds. How can I fix this?

  • To fix a weed eater that won't start, check the fuel to ensure that you are using the correct gas-to-oil ratio for the weed eater. Then, you have to change the spark plug. After that, replace the fuel filter. Now, you need to review the starting process of the weed eater.

CRAFTSMAN WEEDWACKER 316-791860, WILL NOT START. HAS SPARK, FUEL LINES FILL UP, WAS RUNNING FINE, DIED, STARTED NEXT AM, RAN 5 MINS THEN DIED AND WOULDN'T RESTART

Two things which may be the problem: 1) carb need to be rebuilt or replaced, and 2) you need a new spark plug. The carb with shipping is around $50.00 from sears ( http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Craftsman-Parts/Grass-trimmer-weed-wacker-Parts/Model-3167918602008/0247/1503820/P0805032/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod= ) A sparkplug can be had at any small engine repair shop and most auto parts stores for less than $5.00 Start with the cheap solution... Also make certain you have fresh gas and that the oil mix is correct.
