Once the document is loaded into the printer, you can enter the destination faxnumber on the printer's number pad. ... The printer will scan the page or pages and then send the fax to the number entered. You can find additional helpful videos at hp.Jun 13, 2013
Check for phone line connection issues that might be causing failed sent faxes. Call the fax number you are sending to from a phone: If you do not hear fax tones, the receiving fax machine might be turned off or disconnected. ... Connect the phone line to the 1-Line port, and connect the answering machine to 2-Ext.

This could be a cable fault. Get BT to do a line test for you (this is free). If that is OK, change the telephone cable. Perhaps this is on an extention cable? Remove it.

SOURCE: We can't send or received faxes

Just a suggestion. This effect can happen if you have plugged the line cord into the tel jack instead of line jack.

Better check the connection at the back of your printer. This is the most common problem encounter when faxing...wrong connection.

1. when using the printer as fax, the line input should be connected properly to the "L" input at the back of the printer

2. The rj11 connector of the phone should be connected at the back of the printer with telephone label in it

I hope that helps.

I am trying to send a fax to my works printer Kyocera Mita KM2050, but it keeps saying printer is busy. When it isn't. Tried turning it off then back on, waited one hour still says busy. Whats wrong

If this is a shared printer accessed via a print server - off the server and reboot. This should clear whatever is the problem.
If printer is exclusive to you, you need to delete everything in the print queue, then off the printer and restart.
But do check the printer has paper in it.

Trying to have a fax sent to me and they tell me that the line is busy... They keep trying to send it with no luck... I can call out on the machine but it won't receive calls at all...

Call your fax machine with your cellphone to see if the fax machine responds.
The other party is probably calling a wrong number (your main voice line).

Yep, same problem!

hi
try restarting the printer. 1)Start>Printers and faxes 2)double click your printer 3)View>Refresh. this is similar to restarting the device, this should solve the problem if it is due to any run-time problem in the software.

cheers

Difficulty sending a fax

Hello. Please make sure your telephone line is plugged into the correct outlet.

Most fax machines typically allow you to plug the line (the cord that goes from the fax machine to the wall jack) and and a telephone (the telephone connects to the fax machine).

In order to fax correctly, you must plug the line into the jack with a block (looks like a 'T') marked on it. Do not plug the line into the jack marked with a phone hand set marked on it.

This shoulds in detail how to connect the line properly. For this printer the line cord must be plugged into the jack labelled "L"

This will show you how to actually send the fax. On your PDF View select page 42.

Phone line gets busy tone while recieving fax in DRPD mode

As I understand it, this is as it should be. You have two different numbers sharing the same physical line and only one can be active at any one time, so if you are using the phone and someone tries to fax, the fax line will be engaged and similarly, if you are sending a fax and someone tries to ring on your phone line, it will be engaged.

Invalid number

Fax machines do not work well or at all on digital lines. They are designed for analog lines, like the standard phone company line. You may have to install a dedicated fax line from your tel. company.
