does the CD that you put in that doesn't play are the CD you use before and plays on your CD player?If yes then that is a lens issue the lens probably need replacement

try to clean first the lens of the player with a soft cloth dip in an alcohol wipe the lens do not apply too much pressure when wiping

are the CD format compatible with your player there are different audio formats which we must consider with the compatibility with the player ex..audio CD,MP3,MIDI,VCD,DVD,MP4 etc.your player must support this format to play this disk.
