Not usually, but there should be an inverter or other unit to activate the shower. Often it is in the tub outlet and blocks the tub outlet to force water up the shower pipes. If there is no such or if it is just not working you may need to run the piping up to a sufficient height and then back down to the shower head to create enough pressure resistance if it is as you say, requiring a specific height of pipe to get a specific back pressure. But there also needs to be a mechanism to force the water up the shower pipe. Look up Delta on the web and get a phone number as there will be someone at Delta that can fully advise you about this.
That is pretty much up to you.The standard height accoroding to some specs is eighty inches from floor to shower head but I don't see any reason why you can't put it whereever you want.Thank you.
I set my valve were it feels comfortable when i stand up in there tub or shower. Most people shower any way.. the one sitting in the tub can still reach it
I usually set shower valves at 42 to 44 inches and the shower arm at 74-78. You want it
I usually rough the tub and shower valve spout at 4" above the tub rim, shower valve 10" above the spout. This is for tub and shower combo.
This usually means removing part of your wall, and extending your pipe ,but if you don't want to do that ,I believe home depot, sells a shower arm that adjustable ,to raise or lower the head
From rim of tub the spout should be 4" up. From spout to valve body is 8" between. Shower head height is typically from the floor is 72" to 78" in height. Hope this helps, please rate on it's helpfulness and thank you for using FIXYA. Have a great week. Jeff
