Whirlpool sm8525079 - we had the transmission fixed on our whirlpool washer a little over a year ago. Went to move the washer to replace the hoses and realized the top is only fastened down in the back left corner. Can anyone direct me in how to get this fastened back together? Does it look like I'm missing parts? Do I take the back panel off first to get to these fastening points? I'm frustrated that I didn't catch this when this was last repaired so I could have told the repairman to get it put together correctly. Thanks for any help!

ok I know this is a problem heel i had trouble doing y first few but i learned a trick 1. make sure your front feet are off the ground at least 1/2 inch if they are rusted or broken place a screwdriver under the black rails. ok 2. wirh the cab. in front of you open the lid andhold it under that lip tilt it forward and then slide it toward the unit look down the lid hole you want the front edge to line up first as you slide it down there are two flat pins sticking up on both sides about 7" back fron the front corners these must fit into the cabniet you then drop it down slowly put the left clip on first then place you hand down the back right side pull it forward and install your other clip one note the fill dispenser will need to get under the cabniet before it will seat properly. connect your lid sw and close the console. let me know if this works and please rate this help

I would agree with you, it sounds like it isn't going back together correctly. When I put the cabinets back on them, I first make sure all 4 of the spades sticking up from the base are straight and not bent over. Next I grasp the hole the lid covers towards the front and lift and pull it towards me so the bottom of the cabinet is closer to me than the top. Next, I use my foot to push the bottom of the cabinet under the bar that goes across the base of the machine. Then I tilt the top of the washer back towards the machine. I wiggle the sides, until the cabinet seats into the spades coming from the base. After it seats properly, the clips should be lined up properly to be installed.

I had a similar problem on my 04 expedition. I just bought it and the headlights were aiming too far down. A rather larger gap was noticeable between the headlight and the hood. The so called adjustment bolt did nothing. I removed the headlights and found 2 issues. On the adjustment bolt there is a washer. Make sure when you re-install the headlight the washer sets on top of the plastic slot and is visible when looking down behind the headlight. Without the washer being in the correct location it will not tighten the headlight in place.
Second I found the adjustment bolt adjusted nothing. It merely tightened the headlight in place. What I had to do was to loosen this bolt and physically move the headlight into place and the re-tighten the bolt. Hence the slot is the adjustment. Turning the bolt CW or CCW did not move the headlight.
I tried several things trying to figure why the lights would not move until I realized I could move the light with my hands and tightened them in place using the adjustment bolt.

This may not be your issue but I found the owners manual instructions to be useless.
