My Reddy heater pro 110 was not heating up so I changed the air filters inlet and outlet plus fuel filter. All I get is the fan blowing for about 30 seconds to a min them it shuts down and I have to unplug it to reset it. Take the top off and it will ignite and run but once the top goes on it shuts right down.

Does your heater use the older spark plug technology or the newer Hot Surface Ignitor (HSI) technology?

Without this critical information about all this technician can do is guess.

My best guess at this time would be either water in the fuel or a restricted fuel filter.

My best guess is that you are are connecting to your AC receptacle with an extention cord that is too small. The Reddy Heater contains a computer that will shut the unit off if it cannot pull enough amps from your service. The longer the cord the higher the loss from receptacle to unit. This loss can be reduced by increasing the size of your extention cord. I run a 100' 10/2 cord.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: pro 110, runs 10 min., blows white smoke ,shuts off

the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

SOURCE: Reddy Heater 60,000 Model R60 only runs with top off.

Sounds lik the vent hole in the filler cap is plugged. Try cleaning it or replace the cap.

SOURCE: r100 reddy heater, low pressure forced air heater.

The R100 is a kerosene heater and the RLP100 is a propane heater so I am not sure when one you have.
If it is kerosene then you may need to check the pump pressure. Also the Safety swith can give you a cut out after 30 seconds.

If the unit is Propane then you could have a bad control board or a flame sensor.

You can call our service department at 1-800-475-5660

Thanks

Testimonial: "thanks! it is the kerosene heater. i ordered the low pressure gauge and will check pressure. motor cuts out and you hear the safety switch click."

I have a master heater b150b 150,000 btu kerosene heater motor and fan blowing and i can see tho igniter lighting but it seems like no fuel been sitting awhile it will not light

jason2713,

Provided that you know the unit has sufficient fuel and there is no dirt or water in the fuel you have a classic All Pro, Reddy Heat, Master Heater, etc problem. They are all made by DESA International and similar in operation. They control fuel pressure by bleed air. As the air filter plugs up the pressure changes and that is why your unit runs with the top off. You allow more air to flow. You need to replace the air filter and set the pump pressure. I have a tip at

http://www.fixya.com/support/r4124129-yearly_maintenance_reddy_heaters

which is written for Reddy Heaters but as I said before they are all the same. It tells you how to complete the repair and where to get the parts.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Reddy Heater not firing

Take air preassure from an air hose to turn the fan blades to loosen everything up. Time for afull service, like change the vanes in the pump, 3- filters fuel--2 air.

Ihave an all pro 110 torpedo heater that doesnt ru ichanged all the filters the glow plug works and the eye tells it to shut off but no spray it does spray when i blow thru the hose from the outlet filter...

A small air pump is located on back of motor when sends compressed air into nozzle to lift fuel from tank. It sounds like the rotor portion of your pump is broken

All Pro K75 will not ignite. Spark igniter does

most kerosene heaters are basically the same - reddy heat, dynaglow, desatech are all the same. there's a small air compressor built into the axially mounted fan that points forward. the air pressure needed for fuel is 3-5 psi not less, not more! the air feeds through a side inlet to the fuel nozzle where it creates a vacuum venturi to **** fuel from the tank and propels it through a fan nozzle. the aerrated fuel hits the hot surface or spark and ignites. as long as there is heat and air the heater should function.
