Question about AEG Ovens

1 Answer

I have an AEG B5741-4-M Pyroluxe Oven which doesn't want to turn off. I have to turn it off at the mains supply.

Still seems to cook on all functions and holds temperature as set for cooking. The Heat Bars on thr right of screen stay up on 3 bars.

SOURCE: Oven does not maintain temperature while cooking.

Is this a gas unit? If so you might have a weak oven igniter.

SOURCE: Lengthy preheat time

Hello. I am a Viking factory trained tech. and that is actually a normal preheat time.
Now if it undercooks that is another problem.
You may need your thermostat calibrated or replaced. If you think you are up to calibrating it yourself let me know. If it is the kind that doesn't have any white silicone in the center of the knob stem then it is quit a pain in the neck, but if it does have the silcone then it is a lot easier.

SOURCE: oven not heating

you could have lost one of your 120v leads to the machine. that could cause it to work only half way. go turn the breaker off and then turn it back on and see if that corrects the problem.

AEG Oven Heats But Buzzes

lots of them do it. (Including ours unfortunately) in our case this is down to vibration in the casing the fan is screwed to and can be stopped temporarily by pressing something strongly against the top black casing just inside the grill door with the two ventilation slots in it. I wouldn't recommend doing this every time you need to cook obviously. Ours has done it for years it doesn't get any worse. it's not dangerous ( in my unqualified opinion ) and it doesn't affect cooking performance.

I have an aeg d2100-4-m oven. main lower oven not getting hot. Have replaced element, to no avail.Fan and light in oven both come on, but have noticed that the temperature dial light is not illuminating....

Hi .
Sounds like the oven thermostat is faulty.,
This gives a supply to the element .
The temp indicator should be lit, if it is not, then I would suggest repl;acing the oven thermostat.

My large main oven will not work on my AEG U7101- 4- M. The small second over/grill is working fine.

Is the clock set? The display must show the correct time and must not be set to automatic cooking.
If the light comes on and the fan is working then the clock is set. If there is no heat then the element behind the cover and surrounding the fan is probably open circuit. This can be accessed without needing to remove the oven from the carcass.
Good luck

Main oven problem

I suspect not the oven element at fault. you only way forward is to actually test the resistance of the element to earth with a megga if you can beg the use of one. be cautious about the result as on occasion, elements are only faulty to earth when hot. another way to test if you are cdarefull, is to connect the element to mains independently of the oven and see if the rcd trips
