The faucets diverter valve has failed or is otherwise inoperative (stuck open by mineral deposits or debris). Likely it (diverter valve) or possibly the whole faucet will need replaced.

SOURCE: Faucet/sprayer coordination

If you have a Delta faucet your diverter may need to be replaced. The diveter is located under the spout (see diagram)(this is not your faucet but works the same)

Here are the instructions:

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Remove handle.
  3. Remove top cap.
  4. Turning spout back and forth gently lift and remove.
  5. Remove and replace diverter.
Hope this helps and please remember to rate this!

SOURCE: kitchen spray not working completely.

Make sure the sprayer is clean of debris. IF YOU HAVE HARD WATER, soak in CLR overnight. If sprayer is clear then its the diverter which is more indepth thru the stem.

SOURCE: Kitchen sink only running with the sprayer

It is hard to be certain without knowing the type of faucet, but if you have the type that has a single lever, it could be 2 things I can think of. If you have seperate knobs, I can only think of one. If you have the type with knobs, take the aerator screen off the end of the faucet, The screen may be plugged with saw cuttings of pvc or what ever type of pipe, or even the water saver orifice may be stopped up. If water runs freely with aerator off, you obviously have a problem there.
If you have the lever type, the ball valve can be in backwards, or even a little way off, and the water can not get to the faucet. I am guessing, the whole faucet assembly MAY be in backwards, but that too can usually be fixed by changing the ball around.
Hope this fixes you up!

SOURCE: Greetings! My Kohler kitchen faucet

Begin by shutting off the water to the faucet. Then, on the back of the handle you will find a small button. remove it with a small knife blade and underneath you will see a 1/8" set screw. Use a 1/8" inch allen wrench to remove the set screw. You can then unscrew the bonnet and remove the diverter. Take the diverter to a hardware store or plumbing supply to purchase the appropriate repair kit. goodluck.

Low water pressure from hansgrohe faucet

Low flow is a debris driven issue. If the flow is lower on the hot or cold side then you will most likely find the debris in the hot or cold supply line leading up to the faucet. If the flow is the same between hot and cold you will find the debris in the faucet between the cartridge and the spout or sprayer. The actions you will need to take to get to the debris will vary depending on model and type of faucet. I would need to identify the faucet before I can give instructions on clearing the debris and restoring the flow of the unit. If you need help in identifying the faucet feel free to contact me at Hansgrohe Technical Services 1-800-334-0455 press 2 for Tech and ask for David.

I have a brand new moen muirfield high arc faucet with low pressure at spout but good pressure at side spray what can i do to get better pressure at spout

clevine336-

The design of a hand sprayer is meant to provide a higher pressure spray (the smaller outlet size means greater velocity in the water coming out of the sprayer head). That said, there could be something constricting the water flow in your faucet. If you unscrew the aerator on the end of the faucet do you get better pressure? Is the screen in the aerator clogged with sediment or mineral deposits? If this is the case you may have water requiring periodic cleaning of the aerator.

Hope this helps.

Kohler Fairfax kitchen faucet has low flow pressure. Any suggestions? It's the faucet, not the water getting to the faucet that has the low pressure.

First thing to check is if it has a strainer on the spout that has debris. The second thing is if you have a sprayer attachment the diverter valve is a chronic problem with kitchen faucets.

Low water pressure from faucet, but plenty of pressure in water lines.

1-Remove aerator from end of faucet spout to check to make sure it is not obstructed by anything. Grit builds up there and causes flow to decrease , but it can be taken appart and cleaned out.

2-If you have a sprayer attachment to it sometimes the diverter goes bad. This sends water to spray head.

Cut water off remove handle with allen wrench and loosen collar on top to gain access to remove spout. after removing handle and collar you can pull up on spout or work it side to side easily to remove it.

In the middle at the bottom it has a removeable diverter that can be removed and replaced.

If it comes appart it will restrict water flow.

3- If you have to remove faucet to make sure no obstructions any where esle.

I hope this may be some help for you to have a starting point.

Sorry to say, you will need to replace that faucet, and also when you are shopping for a replacement, inquire about a rosette to cover the hole left by the voided sprayer.
