Check the heating element of your system. Most likely it was the reason.

SOURCE: error e3

Drain pump probably not working. Put machine on cycle 7 and it should turn on the drain pump straight away. you can hear this near the bottom of the machine. if it is silent hten the pump probably needs replacing. I repaired mine be removing it and then dismantle the magnet from the tube then give it a good clean out.

SOURCE: I am getting an E3 Error message on my temp

Do this...

The e3/e4 problem is the "connectors" for the fans to the middle separator shelf are put in the pathway of condensation. This causes them to get wet and rust. PLEASE NOTE: If you decide to attempt this fix, you take full responsibility for your fridge and the outcome. If you don’t think you can do this…DON’T! Call a licensed electrician. Here is how I resolved my e3 issue: 1) Unplug the fridge
2) Remove all wine and the metal shelves
3) Remove the 2 screws from the middle separator shelf, one on each side on top
4) Remove the 4 screws from the backboard, one in each corner
5) Slide out the middle shelf slowly, on the right hand side towards the front of the shelf there will be 4 connectors you must disconnect before removing the shelf (they are tucked into the shelf). With one hand on the backboard and one on the shelf, slowly take them out together
6) Once you have the backboard and shelf out, you'll see there is a black and white connector, each having a red and black wire on each side
7) These are the fan connectors that are causing the issue. Mine were brown/green and damp (not good for electricity)
8) Using wire cutters, cut as close as possible to the "black" connector on each side to remove it. You will have 4 wires left, 2 from the backboard and two from the shelf (both having a red and black)
9) Take some of the sheath (cover) off of each wire
10) Take the red wire from the backboard and the red wire from the shelf and twist the metal portion together
11) Cover w/ electrical tape!!! Or you will have the same e3/e4 issue
12) Repeat step 10 and 11 for the black wires
13) Move onto the "white" connector and repeat steps 8 - 12
14) Put the backboard and shelf back in the fridge. Be careful not to pull the backboard and shelf apart or your connection may come apart
15) As you slide the shelf in, make sure the wires you disconnected in step 5 are in the "channel" on the side of the shelf or the shelf won't slide properly.
16) Reattached the 4 connectors and then re-attach the backboard and the shelf with the screws
17) Plug the fridge back in
18) Put the metal shelves and wine back in

SOURCE: What is a E3 code on Samsung dishwasher

The E3 error code on Samsung dishwashers is due to the overflow water level being abnormally high inside the machine, this is caused by a blocked pressure system. Start by checking the supply hose for kinks and restrictions.

I have a Hobart LXiH sanitizer/dishwasher and it doesn't fill with water, gives error code E3. Any input greatly appreciated.

Error code E3 on a Hobart LXiH sanitizer/dishwasher typically indicates a problem with the water fill system. Here are a few things you can check to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
  1. Water supply: Make sure that the water supply to the dishwasher is turned on and that there is adequate water pressure. Check for any kinks or blockages in the water supply line.
  2. Water inlet valve: The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher. Check to see if the valve is open and that there is no debris blocking the inlet. If the valve is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
  3. Water level sensor: The water level sensor is responsible for detecting the water level in the dishwasher. If the sensor is not working properly, it can cause the dishwasher to display an E3 error code. Check the sensor for any signs of damage or debris.
  4. Water pump: The water pump is responsible for pumping water into the dishwasher. If the pump is not working properly, it can cause the dishwasher to display an E3 error code. Check the pump for any signs of damage or debris.
  5. Control board: The control board manages all the electrical functions of the dishwasher. If the control board is faulty, it can cause the dishwasher to display an E3 error code. In this case, the control board will need to be replaced.

My dishwasher gives an E3 error

The E3 error code is not a defined error for this dishwasher. If you are sure it is E3 then best option is to give the controller a reset. This is done by

Press the Delay Start + Normal + Power keys at the same time for two seconds to enter Service Inspection Mode.
- "ALL" is displayed for the first three (3) seconds and then "t1" is displayed.

Press OFF at this stage. Do not attempt to run the inspection as this could damage the dishwasher unless you are familiar with the what each mode does.
If the Error E3 keeps coming back then call the Samsung technician.

Error code E3 on Samsung DMS500TRW dishwasher

3E error in Samsung dishwashers normally relates to high temperature error. This means the dishwasher is detecting over 80deg C water temperature. However if it is 5E that means drain error. If your dishwasher is draining correctly then please check the error again.

L have error code E3 on delonghi dishwasher

We have discoverd xactly why and sorted this on the bottom righthand wall there is a small circular sensor which measures the water temp during the washcycle. If you cover that with a plate pan or chopping board it cannot detect when temp reaches 47 degrees c so gets stuck on 1hr 32 min in the 2hr cycle. Keep that sensor clear and it will stop.
