Pull out the removable table and you will see the drop down feed dogs switch lever behind the back of the machine. Move that lever to the left or right to have feed dogs go back to normal sewing mode OR for embroidery mode.

SOURCE: How to Drop Feed Dogs on Sewing Machine...

On many machines you tilt the machine back on its hinges to see the underside and there you will find a thumbscrew to lower the feed dogs...you also need to be sure that your machine is capable of having its feed dogs lowered...not all machines can do this!

SOURCE: How do I lower the

It's been a while since I have owned a series 2000 Husqvarna, but from memory there is a little white (?) button on the lower right-hand side - near the knob for stitch width - it has a notch on the underside. Push the button in, push it in a downward motion and the notch should catch on the edge of the hole and stay there (in other words the notch "disappears" inside the hole). The feed dogs will be lowered. To raise them, push in the button again and let it lift up and then outwards (you see the notch again). Turn the handwheel once and the feed dogs pop up.

You should join the yahoo group "vikingsewingmachinespre1980". Bill will take very good care of you. I'm new to that group and have gotten every question I've asked answered. This is just for pre-1980 Vikings which includes the 6000 series - including the 6440. Good luck.

Where do I lower the feed dogs on the Viking Iris machine so I can machine quilt?

Check the user manual, page 15. You can view, download, or print the manual from the viking website -
http://www.manuals.husqvarnaviking.com
There is a dial on the bottom of the free arm in the middle. The dial should be turned to left to drop feed dogs and to right to raise feed dogs.

Viking emerald 116 sewing machine will not feed fabric

Look at the feed dogs (the serrated metal strips on either side of the hole the needle goes down thru). If they aren't moving when you turn the handwheel or not protruding above the sewing surface (needle plate) then 1 of 2 things has likely occurred.
#1 - your machine is equipped with at feed-dog drop selector (drops the dogs down for free-motion sewing) that you have activated (intentionally or not) or
#2 - you have enough lint debris accumlated under the sewing surface to stop the dogs from coming up properly or move all together.
Have the machine professionally serviced. A good servicing will resolve 60% of the problems that sewing machines incur. You should have the machine serviced at least every 100 hrs of sewing, more often if you use cheap thead, cheap fabric or metallic threads. All of these leave a lot of debris inside the machine.

I need to know how to lower the feed dogs on my Huskystar Viking E10

There is a switch on machine to raise feed dogs up/down. Remove any extension table to locate it because many of these options are located in the back of machine & hidden by table! Jimmy :)

I have a Husqvarna Viking Emerald 183. I can't get it to feed fabric. The footer will move back and forth, but not up and down. So it's making stitches, but will only feed if I manually pull the fabric...

Do you have the feed dogs dropped? Check the feed dog and also the pressure on the presser foot. This knob is located at the left on the top of the machine. The normal setting is 4.

Machine works but doesnt move forward

Could be that the feed dog is in the down position. The feed dog consists of serrated sections which move together under the fabric and move it under the needle. Run the machine unthreaded and you should see the serrated sections lift above the needle plate, move forward and then drop again. If this doesn't happen the "drop feed dog" knob on the front of the machine could be pushed in. Look for a small knob about 1/2 inch across on the right front of the machine. Push on it and move it sideways at the same time. If it pops out this means that the feed dog is now up and you should be able to sew.
