Hi.My Singer Futura throws error message to make sure that cable is connected and machine turned on.
I have a CE200 and got sent the CE350 programme.I have Windows 7 but on the programme properties it says it was manufactured in 2007 and it does not show that is it is compatible with Windows 7.I did the compatibility change in properties but still the same. changed the cable and my USB ports are all working perfect.The only way to get into the programme is to double click on programme icon and then turn on machine,then it goes in but in the programme machine is unresponsive.I even went to update the drivers but it says the machine has an abnormal condition.

I suspect the incompatibility is between the software written for a CE350 machine trying to communicate with an older CE200 and not the PC operating system/hardware.
Try the CE-250 software... free download from singer.

Before any Singer Futura embroidery software will open, your machine must be on and connected by USB cable to the PC. It serves as a dongle. Many high-end programs require that a USB plug called a dongle be inserted before their program will open; connecting the PC serves as a substitute for that.
It depends on your software version. The list of supported formats could be found in the manual, on Futura support site or checked right through the sofware menu (File->Open, File->Save as)
Turn the software on your cpu, turn on Futura, the hoop handle will move automatically, then attach the hoop, send the design to the machine, lower the foot handle, press start. Important, avoid jamming the bobbin by using cotton thread on the bobbin. And you should have received a software tutorial to read before using the machine. I have a Futura CE250, the tutorial is easy and fun.
Hi I had the same problem sent question to Singer and this was their reply
"Do you have Vista 32-bit or Vista 64-bits? Unfortunately the CE-100/200 machine will not be compatible with either Vista 64-bit systems or the newest Windows 7 computers. The CE-100/200 will only be compatible with Windows 98 through Vista 32-bit operating systems.
This appears to be a hardware issue and not something that we will be able to create a patch to correct. Drivers necessary for 64-bit operating systems are not compatible with the CE-100/200 machines." so I guess we are SOL
I received an email back from Singer stating that it is not possible at this time to load the Futura software on a 64-bit system using Vista. I have emailed to ask whether it would load if the OS were XP, but I haven't heard back yet.
They said that they were working on finding a fix for this, but they aren't sure that they will since it's a hardware problem.
There may be a small "DRIVER" needed for the computer to "see" the sewing machine (*make sure machine is turned on!) when the cable is hooked up. (*could be a bad cable try another they are $2 at fry's) This sometimes requires more computer work to make sure the usb cable is connecting the embroidery machine to the computer correctly.
This driver may be located on your Singer Futura Disk? this is not your program to run the singer machine but the one to connect the two so they can communicate embroidery designs and such.
Deep breaths it will never work if it goes out any window.

I have installed my Futura CE 150 software but when I connect to the machine, I get an error message - saying the cable in not connected or power is off. Tried to repeat several times but its not working. Please help!
