Have a 2nd hand Futura ce200. the computer got faulty - now I have windows 7. What must I do to get my machine up and running again.

Hi quackquack I was having the same problem with windows vista. If you go back on the futura website there is a patch to download which will install autopunch. Linda

If you use the standard FUTURA software. you will have to buy an add-on for the Software.

Singer offers an add-on called Hyperfont which allows to digitize any true type font on the computer.

The software is available in stores and online, but be sure to get the right version for your software. There are versions for the Futura CE150, CE 250 etc, and there are other versions for the CE100 and CE200, so be careful.

You should also keep in mind that although you can digitize any true type font with this software, not every font is suitable for embroidering and will stitch out nicely.

I would suggest contacting the Janome headquarters in your home country and ask to speak to their education officer for specific ideas on this question.

This Vista thing seems to be developing as an issue for many software developers in the wider community and as far as I know Microsoft has delayed the end of support for XP because Vista is still considered "flaky".

As a Janome dealer we have not been given specific information about the troubles, though it is emerging that some things are not entirely well.

Ok, I FINALLY figured it out later that day after taking about a 4 hour break from thinking about it. I un-installed the original software and just installed the "upgrade" software. Then, everything worked. I thought that since it was an "upgrade" software it worked with the original software, but it doesn't. It replaces the original software and will not work unless you uninstall the original. I don't have auto punch or any of the other software packages. But, this is what worked for me! :)

You may ask your Singer supplier about Futura 2.5, this version of the software supports old machine models ce100/200, contains more features like the software for newer machine models and works under new OS including Windows 7.
