Allow me to rephrase your question...
Diesel generator shutdown from a low oil alarm. I added oil but it wont start.
You likely have to reset the alarm condition. What is the generator make and model number?
Check this out ! After all mentioned I tryd starting by pulling the crank rope well it tired me out so I took my car battery n hooked it up to the generator . well I spind the engine over but it only did it wanted to run but it didn't ! So I took a screwdriver and jus kept bumping the s t after n it cranked up it ran for a few seconds then stop . wat is confusing is I noticed I h ad to hold the lil level down to decompress the engine whereas before it n u s stopped on me I could jus push r h at lil level down and it would s t at down ! Now it doesn't want to stay down
Excuse me for typing I'm jus egg n don't know wat to do to get my generator back running
It has decompress lever... then to start you engage decompress then starter, then release decompress, then release starter when it fires. But the decompress lever needs to work.
You likely have to bleed fuel system as well.

If it was running while the oil was low the damage may already be done I'm afraid. The oil acts not only as a lubricant but also as a coolant and running a motor with not enough oil almost always leads to a catastrophic failure with internal components.
Sorry.
SOURCE: engine oil was real low and engine just shut off i
From what you have said, The engine is now clinically dead. I'd be willing to bet that you have spun at least one crankshaft bearing.
You can buy another car for what repair will cost. You can have this verified at any competent shop. (believe me...I really hate it when I have to tell anyone that)
SOURCE: After a smog check that involved a temperature
Which engine do you have ? Do you find any oil under vehicle where it is parked ? Could be the engine oil cooler tube are leaking.
SOURCE: i bought this generator it has been sitting for
remove the spark plug and wile holding with a pair of pliers
ground the metal side of the plug against the top of the motor on a bare spot
set the run switch to run and crank the engine look for a spark if theirs a spark
re install the plug.
check the gas line at the carb by removing the
hose and turning on the gas valve under the tank.
if gas flows then replace the hose back.
if theirs no gas then you have a plugged fuel line or gas valve
their is also a screen in the tank attached to the valve remove it and install a in line filter
it will be easier to replace later if it happens again.
remove the air filter and crank engine with the choke closed
check for a gas smell in the carb hole by smell after cranking engine.
if wile checking for a smell of gas at the carb and their was none then you can have a stuck float or
gummed up carb remove and dissemble clean and at that point rebuild the kits are only around $20.00 and a float $6.00+.
if ok remove the spark plug again and set run switch to off
place a finger over the plug hole crank finger should be blow-en from the hole
and a wosh of air if ok. go to next step.
if the pressure did not blow your finger off you may have a stuck valve or a bent one
this will require removing the head for repairs.
take in for service.
if there is no spark with plug removed remove wires from the run switch and connect
together and remove wire from the low oil sensor crank. if spark replace the wire back
on low oil sensor crank if no spark replace the low oil sensor reassemble run.
if the is no spark with the wire on the sensor then replace the run switch.
re assemble run. if their is no spark with oil sensor disconnected and run switch wires
connected to each other remove the front air flow cover to expose the coil check wires for any
bare spots repair as needed. on the top on the flywheel theirs a coil their will be a spade plug
or a wire small that is a kill wire disconnect and crank check spark if spark then that wire is shorted
in the loop and you have to trace it it will go to a wire stud mounted to a plate under
the carb with a plastic mount this can be cracked and shorting bypass and try again still
no spark use a match book cover and lower the coil to the flywheel with the match book cover
in be tween and disconnect the small wire crank if no spark the coil unit is the issue replace
some people will say sand clean the tops of the magnets built in to the flywheel this is a myth
it don't matter but feel free to clean anyways it don't hurt.
this seams allot but it is a complete diagnoses the fuel, spark and air system if all this is ok and still don't run you have a serious internal issue the engine will either need
major work or replacement. i hope this all helps you.

Hi there,
If I remember correctly this model does not use a fuel/oil mix. Please confirm this.
If what you are saying is that in filling the device with gas and checking the oil level, both overflowed, then we are good.
As you have done, drain both to their proper levels.
Now pull the spark plugs, they are most likely fouled with oil.
Turn the generator over a few times to clear the cylinder of excess oil.
Give the plugs a good cleaning. You may need to replace them. I just have a thing about tossing something with life still left in it.
Put the plugs back in and fire it up.
Best regards
Mike
SOURCE: ran low on oil and
Did the engine shut down by itself when you ran low on oil? If that was the case, then you overheated the engine and it's now frozen. Verify this by trying to turn the engine over by hand. You should be able to do this by getting a wrench on any of the accessories, like the alternator, etc. If you can turn them with a wrench, the belt should turn the engine over without slipping. If you can't get the engine to turn over in either direction, then you have damaged your motor...most likely locked up a crankshaft bearing. This is not anything that you are likely to fix without removing the motor and have a shop repair it properly.
