Measure the internal diameter at the front of the lens. If it is between 48-58mm I think you will find a suitable alternative replacement on Amazon, or pop it into a local photographic shop.

Your fix could be as simple as cleaning the camera's battery contacts, or it could be something more serious and expensive. Before you pay for expensive repairs that you may or may not need, check the Kodak Help Center by clicking on the link below. It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

SOURCE: my camera Kodak DX6490 need to repair..

Know no solution, just, that is, what my camera did when it fell, the zoom lence was zoomed out, now it won't retract. Must have a crack also like yours. I took the back off and tried to see if any cables were loose, none were so I know it's in the front area of the camera. The zoom probably. My LCD screen doesn't come on either. But the camera it turns on and lights up the selection icon that I have it on. Did you get yours fixed? Sorry to post on the solution when not a solution. But, I didn't see a reply button, to type a regular reply.I did call the Kodak company and they said to buy another camera would be cheaper than getting mine sent to them to be fixed.

A stupid mistake and now my kodak easyshare dx6490 lens comes off

Hello, This happens quite often and the bad news is it is not worth the cost of repair, the good news is you can sell it on E-Bay for parts and by a good used one to replace it.If you buy a good used DX6490 you can still use your battery, charger, and other items from your old camera.
I have several very nice DX6490 units that I sell.

I have moister inside the lense of my kodak easy share dx6490. How do I open it so that I can dry the lense

Hello Steve, There is no easy way to open the camera, your best bet is to just let it set in a warm dry area for a couple of days. This usually occurs during times of high humidity or from a rapid change in camera temperature like warm indoors to cold outdoors.

Want to buy a dx6490 outer lens

if you cant swap one yourself from a dead camera it would be beyond economical repair.
If you are adventurous you could buy a faulty one of ebay and swap the lens or if the faulty one has a broken screen or mode dial swap yours over to the faulty one..
there are a couple of "tricks" do getting this camera open drop me a line if you decide to proceed...

best of luck
