Your fix could be as simple as cleaning the camera's battery contacts,
or it could be something more serious and expensive. Before you pay
for expensive repairs that you may or may not need, check the Kodak
Help Center by clicking on the link below. It uses a simple Q&A
format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

SOURCE: my camera Kodak DX6490 need to repair..
Know no solution, just, that is, what my camera did when it fell, the zoom lence was zoomed out, now it won't retract. Must have a crack also like yours. I took the back off and tried to see if any cables were loose, none were so I know it's in the front area of the camera. The zoom probably. My LCD screen doesn't come on either. But the camera it turns on and lights up the selection icon that I have it on. Did you get yours fixed? Sorry to post on the solution when not a solution. But, I didn't see a reply button, to type a regular reply.I did call the Kodak company and they said to buy another camera would be cheaper than getting mine sent to them to be fixed.
dear sir,
the problem is usually caused by virus and sometimes it might be software failure also, which causes some of the menu not to function, the only solution is to flash ur cam software from the nearest kodak service centre..
thank you...take care
