I just got my Toshiba Satellite L500 Series laptop 2 days ago.It has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. It was working fine last night, but when I turned it on this morning the screen was black and all I could see was the white cursor. Battery is charged. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you SO MUCH!It's fine now. Any idea why that would happen so soon to a brand new laptop?

I use the same computer. I guess it is a normal thing. it happens to me all the time. don't leave your computer on when you are not using it. turning it off also prolong the battery.

I also forgot to add. Make sure you have a scheduled scan for you virus protection software. Maybe every 3am daily. Never download anything unless you know what it is. There are just so many evil people out there who spread virus, and other malware. Another thing is that the plug from the adapter to the laptop have a tendency to wear out so try to minimize plugging, and unluging it. The wire can be damaged if you mishandle too often. In fact of all laptops I have worked with had problems with the power connectors. If be carefull with these parts you will have years of troublefree use.

The Satellite Pro L300 didn't have any problems running multiple programs or multi-tasking jobs with its Core 2 Duo 2.1GHz processor and 160GB hard drive. I could check email, open documents and surf the Web without any lag. The benchmarks are average and overall the L300 did good on its PCMark05 score compared to other notebooks in the same category. I am sure the fact it is running Windows XP instead of Vista helps out this business savvy notebook as well.
wPrime is a program that forces the processor to do recursive mathematical calculations, the advantage of this program is that it is multi-threaded and can use both processor cores at once, thereby giving more accurate benchmarking measurements than Super Pi.

I bought a satellite l500 9 months ago. The processor is really overheating within 30 min (92 degrees). It's seems its doing over time. I did install a cleaning program Magix. No cure. Any solution?

Hi, these have an issue with overheating. The fan and thermal module needs to be removed from the motherboard, cleaned, and then reseated using good CPU compound. Any laptop repair shop would do this for you and shouldnt be too costly. I normally charge £20 and it is usually a very long lasting fix for these models

Toshiba Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 died

Hello
Is not necessary to be the CPU,maybe is the power adapter, motherboard or CPU.
First check your power adapter, try another one from a friend or buy one.If you notice even one led flashing or something even a led near the hole that you plug the adapter(some laptops have a led there) then is not your adapter.
Good luck and let me know

Cpu enquiry

There really is no difference, there are differences in the E numbers though. Those are specificallt about it's GHz's, it L1 and L2 cache.

Though Intel Core 2 Duo is the same as Intel Dual Core. It's just a different name. This confusion is caused because of Intel changing the names of it's processors series. The Pentium brandname for example is gone. Intel Pentium Dual Core is now called Intel Core 2 Duo.

I hope this answered your question.

Greetings,
