Installing power cruiser amplifier - Car Audio & Video

You'll need to use a test light or meter to follow the power from the battery to the main fuse box. Check the ground connections also.

In the trunk or rear space there are plastic panels that cover the rear wheel mounts (solid steel bolts under the panels) I installed a Kicker Comp amp and sub in my wife's Pt cruiser and that was perfect. No engine noise or reverse accelorator sound at all. Has been in for 5yrs now without a need to touch anything.

A DC adapter probably offers insufficient current to power the amplifier. What is the current rating on the adapter? What you need to test an amp on the bench is a 12 volt power supply. If you don't have a power supply, perhaps you could borrow the battery from a car. OK?

The most common problem is that the amplifier isn't getting enough power. Try installing a one farad capacitor between the head unit and the amplifier.

you must of blown the fuse inside the Amp or turn on your car and deck

Most likely you have a car with a factory amplifier, whats the year make and model of your car?

bwqueen-What type of vehicle are you installing it into,cause some vehicles have built in factory amplifiers.The ones with factory amps need a remote turn on to power up the speakers,let me know and I'll try to help you. cooltek Mar,4/08
