SOURCE: Karcher G3050OH Pressure Washer Spill / Unloader Valve (Bypass)

You should put 'locktite' on the male thread and screw it in all the way and lock it there. That is how it works ,the spring keeps the valve at the bottom closed during high pressure operation. When the gun is released the part with the o-ring is forced down resulting in the valve opening and then the pressure is by-passed.Those dont normally give trouble. Look for a blocked nozzle or a restriction somewhere in your high pressure hose.

WITH THE POWER DISCONNECTED:

Can you jumper ACROSS the GFI and CAREFULLY see if your K5 powers up?

While I found plenty of parts lists, I found no schematics! Darn.

Karcher K2.91 will not switch on unless you start on low pressure adjustable detergent lance had warranty claim for oil leak Can you tell me how mutch oil should be in pump ?
The oil in these pumps are factory filled and sealed, im not sure why there would be oil around the derergent lance... it sounds like your unloader valve/bypass valve is stuck and it takes a larger flow of water to activate it (as you get more flow on low pressure)

will have to be stripped down and lubed up or the bypass assembly/head replaced if its badly scored

I have a karcher 2400 psi pressure washer and it doesnt get water pressurized when pulling wand trigger.
the most comon problem with thease is a stuck bypass valve, this is the valve that alowes the water to bypass round the pump when the triger is closed, when they stick all of your pressure runs around the pump and not out of your nozzle,,
its located in the centre of the pump on the top, undo the 2 cap screws pull out valve greese and re fit

Electric modelm620 karcher does not start
The bypass valve is most likley jammed. Remove the cover from the machine, then remove the chemical tank. Unscrew the micro switch cover and manually operate the micro switch. If the motor runs the bypass valve is faulty. Replace the valve along with the stem seals on the valve.
