Farberware air fryer toaster oven Wal-mart 201797, new cannot manually adjust cook time per instructions after pushing button 2x to set timer, should I return it ?

I have the same problem with my Euro-Pro. It's approximately 2 years old. The knob (off a round, slotted shaft) in my case was the timer knob. Was using a butter knife, but cut two pieces of sheet metal, one rectangular (steel) and the other smaller and thinner (aluminum) cut one into a pointer, shimmed together in the slot. bent the pointer piece to point to zero.

Hi, switch off the mains for the cooker, wait for about 15 seconds then press the 2 buttons on the left and hold them, and then press the - or + button to set the time.
