Okay so you got the brand funai this brand is Alias to all kinds of other products almost only sold at and made for Walmart such as Emerson Westinghouse and other brands that used to be truly American companies night is exclusive to Walmart and they have some serious quality issues most of the time the power boards get damaged and get damaged quite easily a surge of any sort will usually cause the condition that you have or actually Walmart makes it impossible to get parts some electronic shops to fix these units but it isn't easy because the parts are such low quality fortunately I think this is the end best of luck in the future.

SOURCE: Cassette Recorder play problem

Left(Playback) deck of cassette player turns off within about 2 sec's after inserting a cassette to play. Rewind and Fast Forward stop also after about 1 to 2 seconds. When pushing button to play it turns back off right away. I suspect the end of tape/tension sensor is the culprit but do not know where it is. Have not taken any steps except finding this site first off!

SOURCE: Sony Handycam Video Hi8 - TRV138- cassette - will not play -please reinsert

Hello Everyone!

My Handy Cam CCD TRV-138 was have a malfunction error by stopping and beeping and telling me to reinsert cassette.
HERE IS HOW YOU GET IT TO WORK.....
Let me first tell you that you need to call the Sony Service Hotline at 1-800-488-7669.

They will have their service tech help you to reset the camera, STEP by STEP and it will work fine after that.

You have to do several things in the right sequence in order for the reset to work. You can't just press the reset button and make it reset.

It doesn't cost anything to have Sony help you over the phone. They are all too happy to make sure that you are satisfied with their product and want to help you.

Mine was out of Warranty by 4 years and they still helped me without charging me.

I followed their steps and it worked. She had me first remove the cassette tape from the camera, turn off camera, remove the battery, then she had me turn the camera back on, then she had me take a pen or pencil and push the reset button, that is below the volume buttons (inside the view finder area). Release the pen then turn camera off again, then unplug the cord and wait 60 seconds so that the residule electric current can completely drain from the Camcorder. After 60 seconds, power on the camera and before you do anything else *YOU MUST RE-ENTER AND SET THE YEAR, DATE, TIME before you go any further. This is crucial to your camera working properly. Then power off again. Power up one more time and this time try to record and playback and see if everything works ok.

Mine worked fine. If this does not work for you it may be because you own a different model and you will need to have Sony give you specific instructions for your model.

Good Luck and let me know on this blog if it works.

SOURCE: sony ccd trv218e, recording & playing back does'nt work

I had that problem also and I found that using smaller tapes helped. I was using the 120 minute tapes, I think they may be too heavy.

Do batteries have to be in for the Cassette player to work?

The cassette player should work with either the A/C cord or 6 C-cell batteries. You should not need to put in batteries first before using the Lennox system to play an audio cassette when on A/C power. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/92166/Lenoxx-Sound-Cd-102.html?page=10#manual . In my experience, cassette players will fail before other parts of any radio/CD/cassette player audio system.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Every time a cassette is inserted, within 5 seconds the power light blinks, and the cassette does not play, or the system does not play the cassette although the play button is green.

There could be several reasons why a cassette does not play when inserted into a system, and the power light blinks within 5 seconds. Here are some possible causes and solutions:
  1. Dirty or damaged cassette: The cassette tape itself may be dirty or damaged, preventing it from playing properly. Try cleaning the tape head and the cassette tape itself with a soft, dry cloth or a cassette cleaner. If the cassette is damaged, try playing a different cassette to see if the issue persists.
  2. Faulty cassette player: The cassette player itself may be faulty. Try inserting a different cassette to see if the issue persists. If other cassettes also do not play, then the cassette player may need to be repaired or replaced.
  3. Loose connections: Check that all the cables and connections between the cassette player and the amplifier or speakers are properly connected and not loose. If any connections are loose, tighten them and try playing the cassette again.
  4. Low batteries: If the cassette player is battery-powered, check that the batteries are fully charged or replace them with new ones. Low batteries can cause the power light to blink and prevent the cassette from playing properly.
If none of the above solutions work, then there may be a more serious problem with the cassette player, and it may need to be inspected and repaired by a professional technician.

Quasar VCR/VCR Tv doesn't play cassette

There are a few potential causes for this issue:
  1. Dirty or clogged video heads: The video heads on a VCR can become clogged with dust and debris, which can prevent the cassette from playing properly. Cleaning the video heads with a head cleaning cassette or alcohol can often fix this issue.
  2. Damaged cassette: If the cassette is damaged or worn out, it may not play properly. Try using a different cassette to see if the problem persists.
  3. Malfunctioning transport mechanism: The transport mechanism is responsible for moving the cassette tape through the VCR. If it is not functioning properly, the cassette will not play properly.
  4. Power supply problem: A malfunctioning power supply can cause a wide range of issues, including preventing the cassette from playing.
  5. Failing electronic component inside the VCR.
It's likely that one of these issues is causing the problem you're experiencing. It would be best to take it to a professional repair technician for proper diagnosis and repair.
