Unplug the scanner, then power it on again. If it reads once and then stops, it is a configuration error such as bad cable or wrong settings in register. If it doesn't read straight after power up, try scanning the 'start' barcode in the scanner's programming manual. It should always be able to read this code. If it reads it, you have a setting fault in the scanner and you need to re-program it to read UPC and EAN codes again. If it reads none of the above codes after power up, have it checked by a dealer

I am going to presume that you have not set up the Barcode scanner yet with the barcode EAN defaults etc? Please take a look at the PDF document via the link below and go through the setup process for the barcode scanner.

The bar codes are on the products. I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve.
