Generally, when you connect either a wired or Bluetooth headset, the internal mic should be off. Check your settings

SOURCE: microphone fuzz

Try turning the microphone volume down in your sound settings - fuzziness is usually caused by trying to amplify the signal to a higher level than it can carry.

For your own piece of mind, you might also want to check your headset on someone else's machine - that will pretty quickly distinguish between a headset and a computer problem.

SOURCE: Moto H715 microphone doesn't work

Had the same problem and tried all solutions offered on the internet. Mute is off, wire's are not broke, mic is not obstructed.... Called Motorola and they are sending a replacement since the unit is less than one year old. They are sending me the H780 model since the H715 is out of stock. Call 800-331-6456. Hi, one of our Call Center workers cannot hear the ringing phone when she has the headset onWhat's your problem?

The ring from the telephone is picked up by the internal microphone on the HL10 Handset Lifter, typically for most phones, the lifter sits directly over the speaker grill on the telephone where the sound comes out. For telephones that curve out on the left side and don't have a straight edge, there is an accessory called a "Ring Detector" which is used. Here's a link:

HL10 Nortel Adapter Kit - 46780-01

If the internal mic on the lifter has gone out, you can plug the ring detector into the handset lifter and just stick the ring detector over the speaker grill to pick up the ring. Plugging this into the lifter will bypass the internal mic, this accessory would have come with your HL10 lifter. You can also check the ring volume on the telephone, and you can also try adjusting the ring tone on the phone (sometimes it will pick up one ring tone better than another). Here is a link below if you need to order a new ring detector:

Cs70 headset with a Cisco 7975 phone, is there a way to not have the phone ring in the headset ?

This works if you're using the HL10 handset lifter with your CS70. The HL10 has a built-in microphone to pick up the vibrations from the ringing of the phone speaker under the handset. The HL10 came with an accessory package that has an extra round microphone on a cord to help the lifter if the telephone speaker is located in an out-of-reach location on the phone. You take that external microphone, plug it into a jack on the back of the HL10 and let it hang free making sure it's not resting on any surface. That should eliminate any ringing in your headset.

My problem is that i get great sound on the headphones but my pc isn't picking up the mic

The webcam itself usually has a built-in microphone.
Most likely you will need to go into the configuration setting of your webcam (probably available in Control Panel if you're using Windows) and deselect the microphone that is built-in to the webcam and select the mic input on your sound card instead.
I've seen this happen many many times.

Cannot hear phone ringing in headset, only on handset.

The HL10 handset lifer is what notifies your headset that you have an incoming call. If you are using the handset lifter and are not receiving the 3 short beeps in your ear piece there are a couple different things that could be going on.
1. The internal microphone could have gone out on the lifter. This microphone is what sends the signal to your headset that you have an incoming call. If the microphone is working you will hear 3 short beeps in your headset.
2. If the volume is too low on your telephone, the handset lifter will not notify the headset of an incoming call, so try turning the volume up on your phone and see if that takes care of the problem.
3. The HL10 handset lifter ships with a ring detector that has a 2.5mm jack on one end and a small round microphone on the other end. This ring detector is intended for phones that do not have the speaker located under the handset. You could try plugging this into the back of the lifter and setting the microphone next to where the lifter is mounted on your phone. This might help pick up the sound of the phones ring tone.

If you are manually lifting your handset out of the cradle and sitting it to the side instead of using a lifter, then you will not receive the 3 short beeps in your earpiece to notify you of an incoming call.

In recent days my headset (590A) has only been transmitting sound on the right ear via bluetooth connection, when I use the 3.5mm jack (connected to left ear) both ears work. Is there a fix for...

Your headset can be used as stereo headphones or a wireless microphone for a bluetooth enabled device like a cell phone or a computer. When you plug the headphones into a device with the 3.5mm jack the headset automatically turns into stereo headphones and disables the microphone(headphone mode). It sounds like whatever device your headset is connected to via bluetooth is using the wireless microphone protocol where sound only comes through the one speaker and the microphone is on(microphone mode). The bluetooth protocol settings of your device may have been changed accidentally. You will need to go into the bluettoth settings of your device you are using with your headset and change the protocol. If it is a cell phone you will need to go into the bluetooth settings in the settings menu. If it is a computer your can adjust the bluetooth settings in the control panel.

You can download the pdf file of your instruction manual for your headset here

Motorola W755 2.5mm headphone adpater connectivity problem

It actually has to do with the 2.5 mm adapter. I had the same problem and went to buy a new one because I thought the adapter was bad. Went to Radio Shack and the guy said there are 4 wires within the audio input so that you can add a microphone too if you want. You have to buy an adapter that grounds that 4th microphone wire and it'll work just fine. I got the more expensive adapter (about $10) and haven't had the redial problem since.

I purchased a Motorola V750 Adv recently. The headset jack will not work. tried several different headsets I know work, but won't work with the v750! Suggestions? Took phone back to Verizon, sales...

My V750 works with both my hands-free set (BodyGlove from Walmart) and my stereo headphones, but there's a trick to using stereo headphones with the 2.5mm jack. You absolutely HAVE to use the 2.5mm-to-3.5mm headphone jack adapter from Verizon. I had a generic adapter from Radio Shack that I used to use with my RAZR, but it wouldn't work with the V750; tons of people have had the same problem.
The ONLY adapter that will work is the one sold by Verizon. It runs between $10 and $15, and it includes a 32 inch extension cable and a clip-on microphone with a call answer/hang-up button. The plus side is that this adapter turns your favorite headphones into a hands-free kit.
