You need the RF Adapter cables. I have seen items like that at thrift stores. The camera has that barrel connector
with 6? pins to connect it to the converter box that output to Channel 3-4. Keep checking ebay or craigslist.

SOURCE: I have old tapes from an old camcorder Sanyo

There are several ways of converting your tapes to a digital format.
1. By routing it through a DV camcorder with AV-input (these are increasingly rare though. (using firewire).
2. By using a device like this, which converts to DV. (also connects via firewire). http://www.dv247.com/invt/23453
3. By using a device which captures to MPEG2.

The cheapest way is option 3, but it requires a working camcorder. You should purchase a device similar to this: http://www.avforums.com/forums/attachments/camcorders-video-editing/85846d1216145397-camcorder-computer-easycap.jpg

If you don't have your camcorder anymore, or it isn't functioning, you should try to get a second-hand 8mm camcorder with firewire. This way you are able to directly convert your tapes to your pc.
If you can't find a firewire camcorder you could just settle with a good functioning 8mm camcorder but you will have to buy a capture device as mentioned above.
Good luck!

Why won't older Sanyo VCR playback VHS tape on new HD-LCD TV?

Hello,
The problem is not with your TV. I have had this problem as well and the older the VCR gets the harder it is for it to turn the tape. Does your VCR react the same way with other tapes? Try Fastforwarding the tape about halfway and then test it again.

The deck may have went. Try bringing it to a local camera shop to get it out for you.

Camcorder hookup for tv?

I am successfully using my old Quasar VM-D51 camcorder as a WebCam and it works great. My computer has a TV Capture Card with an analog input (I am using the RCA plug on it). The camera has a output connection on the lower right side (just below the hand strap). You will need a mini plug to RCA adapter to make the transition. The software for the TV Capture Card does the rest. Radio Shack has all of the hardware you will need. Hope this helps. Good Luck--buzzard14@verizon.net
