I have a Go Go elite traveler scooter. The battery condition meter dips way down and the motor surges or hesitates when I press the throttle control lever.

And then it gives a code 6 ( Throttle trip.) This is on full charge battery.

More than likely it has a bad battery or cell in the battery even though it shows a full charge. Once under a load the power drops below 17 volts which shuts the unit down momentarily. Then when it powers back above 17 volts because you have the throttle partially depressed it trips the code 6. Have the batteries load tested and you will see one is bad.
Solution: new batteries

You shouldn't need to full throttle constantly. , or at least let up on it periodically so it can dump some heat

Make sure that the manual brake release/freewheel lever is enaged as if it is not, this will allow you to push the scooter, but will not engage the drive motors. It is usually located on the rear of the vehicle; check your owner's manual.
If this does not work, contact the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting.
Good luck!

I need to re-set the potentiometer on an Easy Travel Classic scooter. Anyone have the procedure?

Hi all ,you need to do is make sure the throttle lever cross head is dead centre, got a meter ? then disconnected the throttle pot connector and measure one outside pin to centre pin , it should measure around 2.5k ( resistance)

I have a Go Go Elite Traveller 4 wheel. I just spent $175 on 2 new batteries for it. I charge it every time I use it. It will not go more than 20 minutes before it stops. Then I get 6 beeps. ...

hi, sorry to hear you having issues with the go go

Here's the manual

http://www.pride-mobility.co.uk/docs/Elite%20Traveller_owners%20manual.pdf

The fault description is :

Throttle control lever not at centre position
at start up.
Return the throttle control lever to centre
position, turn Travel Scooter off then back on

so what happened is that the throttle is no longer centre , look at the base of the throttle stem, a cross head , now that should look straight at the the seat stem, be in aligh with it, if's it off slight you will get that fault so you need to adjust the lever so the pot is dead centre again..

Still having a problem then goto my site and contact me so we can solve this for you free of charge..

I have a go go elite traveller plus , the battery pack will not lift off my scooter it seems to be stuck , i need to replace the batteries

The manual for this scooter is at http://www.discovermymobility.com/store/scooters/summit-scooters/elite-portable-scooter/manual.pdf
The closest info I can find is page 14. MOVING AND TRANSPORTING YOUR Easy Travel Elite
6.1. Moving Your Easy Travel Elite in Freewheel Mode when unfolded:
The Freewheel switch (Fig. 1/17) is used for releasing the brake and moving the Easy Travel Elite without operating the motor. Before activating, make sure your Easy Travel Elite is switched on. Turn Freewheel switch to the "freewheel" position and push or pull the Easy Travel Elite manually.
NOTE: The Freewheel mode can only be activated after the battery is in place and the power switch (Fig.9/1) is turned on. Doing otherwise will cause a fault situation indicated by rapid flashing of the Indicator light (Fig. 9/4). See section 4.2.
WARNING: The Freewheel switch should never be engaged on a slope.
CAUTION: The seat back must remain in the upright position.

They seem to assume removal is obvious, I would check any connections from battery to scooter are pulled out and that freewheel mode is not engaged.

How do I increase the speed of apride elite trav?

you could rewire it so that it bypasses the speed controller, so its direct current flowing from the battery to the motor, but first check the voltage of the battery's and the motors

My pride go go elite traveler 4 wheel stops randomly often with no beeps. I have replaced the throttle, the speed pot, the brake, and the batteries check out fine.

You may have a loose connection at one of the harnesses or connectors. If there are no codes you may have a bad controller or loose connection at the controller. Slow speed problems may be motor or motor brush problems you can diagnose by visual inspection or a voltmeter. Load test the new batteries and the charger output. Block it up and run it checking and knocking all the components until it quits. I have seen a dragging brake caused by a melted controller harness at the controller connector cause a similar problem. Hope this helps.

My Pride scooter bought in '97 doesn't run

Hello, my name is Mike.

Here is a couple areas that would cause this:

A faulty throttle pot ( Wig Wag ). I have changed many throttle pots for this reason.
Also check battery and motor connectors. Sometimes even if the meter is not dropping poor batteries can cause surges which would cause this. Sometimes you get lucky where you take key out, and let set for a bit. Then put key in with out depressing throttle. But that is rare this works. Most times it going to be a battery issue, or a faulty throttle pot. Best to have service place replace this if your not really mechanically inclined in electronics. Thank You , MIke.

My scooter sometimes seems to slow down for no reason on full power. It is like something it holding it back then all of a sudden it is working fine.

Hi. Could be a couple of faults. The throttle pot ( Wig Wag ) could be worn. While you are driving the machine, try moving the ends of the lever up or down slowly, ( not in and out as you usually do for driving ), and see if that makes the speed vary.
Another problem could be faulty battery or motor connectors. I have replaced or removed many battery connectors because of this. Also check battery or motor wirs where they connect to the controller.
If you feel unsure about checking the connectors, get a good serviceman to do it for you. Good luck. Neil.
