Testimonial: "Thank you so much for your quick response. I need the separate piece of paper that came with the machine. That piece of paper has about 20 steps to change to cover stitch. thank you"
Husqvarna Viking has the text instructions and for a couple of cover-stitch options on the Huskylock 936 page: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-US/Machines/HUSKYLOCK-936 . The link to these instructions are here: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/SiteMedia/EN/US/Documents/Learning%20Center/Huskylock_Specialty_Techniques_x_.pdf?ext=.pdf . There is also a video for setting up a triple cover stitch in the How-To tutorial. Note: the video requires Adobe Flash Player to run. The manual has a section on the cover stitch starting at page 40. This is available here: http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/VSM/Husqvarna%20Viking/HVManual.nsf/1fd5659e6f37141041256697003e64c0/de210fba65cb0805852575ed0070df04/$FILE/Huskylock_936_manual_EN.pdf .
I hope the steps in one of these files helps you set up the serger.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I need the separate piece of paper that came with the machine. That piece of paper has about 20 steps to change to cover stitch.
Unfortunately, I can't find that page as a separate file anywhere. You might consider printing the first page (or pages) of the cover stitch directions from the manual. Cindy Wells (I printed threading diagrams and similar pages from the PDF copy to post next to my sewing machine after 20 years of opening the paper manual.)
You might also want to check with a Husqvarna sewing machine dealer. They might have a copy in the store. (This is not guaranteed; they'd probably be more likely to have the document for current models.) Cindy Wells

The manual is useless for beginner trying to thread the machine - and the DVFD is not much better.

The parts catalogs show this part as obsolete.
Try Googling the top Husqvarna Viking dealers to find one with spare parts from junker machines. Most dealers have a good supply of used plates.

You might want to visit your nearest authorized dealer and review their website for additional info. You have a fantastic machine and recommend you learn how to use it.
You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.

This will also occur if the "needles" and "loopers" lock up as though threads are tangled and binding the machine. If needles and loopers move freely when manually turning the handwheel counter clockwise, you probably need to take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service.
