Not really. Repairs are right about $150 - $250. Resistor Kit, Caps., maybe other parts, and labor charges.

SOURCE: blank screen

Mine was doing this for a while and now is completely black all the time. I have a thought as to what this might be... I believe the problem is not the lamp or light engine but rather one of the brushless fans failing. This causes the tv to shut down as a safety measure because of the inability to purge the heat that would build up VERY QUICKLY and warp, damage and destroy everything else. I believe the problem being intermittent at first is due to the fan performing a "death rattle". The fan itself could be fine and more of an indirect problem. I believe the wiring coming out of the fan is inadequately insulated against the heat generated. It begins to cook, crack and eventually the bare wires touch causing a short or they just stop conducting altogether and fail.

The good news? You may be able to re-wrap the wires and be up and running again. If the fan needs to be replaced altogether, they cost about $15 and can be purchased on the internet. Nothing special about them. You would want to make sure it has the same leads coming out of the fan to facilitate the change-out. Again, I haven't attempted to install a new fan on mine yet but it will be the first thing I try.

If any of you attempt this before I do, please post your resulting experience for the rest of us. I will do the same. Good luck.

I have a Sharp LC-65Q6020U television.

You will need to preform a power drain cycle on your TV here.Unplug your TV from the power source.Press and hold the power button for about 10 to 30 seconds. This will help drain all of the TVs residual power. Now plug the TV back into the power sources.

I cant do that factory reset because i have no image on the screen. i did the update after replacing main board using usb flash drive the best result ive gotten is the SONY image popping up

  1. Turn off the TV. IMPORTANT: For a projection TV that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the TV to allow the lamp to cool before continuing.
  2. Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Note: If your TV was previously plugged into a power strip or surge protector, plug it directly into the wall outlet instead in case the power strip or surge protector was causing a problem.
  5. Turn on the TV.

Sharp tv modle no 21fl96 not powering up

try a different outlet to plug into. use ohmmeter or continuity tester for the integrity of the cord & plug. try to open & look for a blown fuse, should be near the power (as it enters the back of the tv) cord area.

Broken lc-42sb48ut

I would look to see if this unit has a back light and if so it may be your problem--either the actual back light or the voltage source that powers it.

Not likely to be a do it yourself repair.

Panasonic pt-53wX42, power wont stay on. Turn on, no picture then it will turn off by itself after 5 seconds. The red power button will flash on and off until I unplug unit and start the whole process...

I'm no expert, but I'd start by taking a "VERY GOOD LOOK" w/magnifing glass if possible , @ UR Wall Outlet Power Cord. Change to different wall outlet. Ur Power Cord "should" just pull right out of the back of your TV. If nothing in those places, then take off back panel (or part where power cord plugs into TV & AGAIN inspect area around where power cord attached for, yeah, that's right, the dreaded black area around plug-in area. Maybe it's just a bent prong. Any other funny things going on that U didn't mention here? Good Luck Leonard aka [email protected]

Protron 42

on the back of the TV where the power cord plugs into the back of the tv there is a small black on/off switch- it's not as obvious as you would think.... but that was turned off. Not sure how that happened since the back of the Tv was never touched when it went dead- but I unplugged the cord from the back of the tv and from the outlet and reset that switch and it worked.
