Question about Boating
Gary is correct. If you are drifting with the current, and you are not using a ground based speed log or plotter that uses GPS for speed info, a unit will not be able to determine speed. It’s basically using a speed through water transducer, or STW sensor. Since you are drifting, that sensor isn’t detecting movement because water isn’t moving past it, so it reads 0 kts for speed.

You are drifting? In current? Then your relative speed in relation to the current is approximately zero.

n the system setup, under “UNITS” I set
BEARING to “MAG” (magnetic). This will cause the unit to display course /
bearing information in relation to the Magnetic North and match magnetic
compass readings. It is not the same as True North! One has to be careful with
this setting. There are a number of areas where the earth's magnetic field is
locally disturbed, sometimes very significantly. Your GPS may not account for
again, under “UNITS” I set “METRIC”.

TomTom Home must have corrupted the TomTom's operating system. That is what that symbol means. Contact TomTom support and tell them what model you have and they will walk you through getting the correct version installed.

Check to see if this is a power issue by connecting to shore power and fully charging your batteries overnight with instruments off. While still connected to shore power, with batteries fully charged, turn on C80 navigation system. If the loading screen comes on and does not reset, then try holding down the button immediately to the right of the red power button for at least 3 seconds to see if the system re-boots.

Testimonial: "Factory reset solved the problem. Soft key next to power button worked a treat!"
Your problem is the 4GB card. The Raymarine C-Series have a problem with their compatability tool and larger CF cards. You should use a card no bigger than 256mb.
The card probably worked in the store because the newer models accept larger cards.
Get an older card from ebay etc and copy your 4gb files onto it and try again.
