SOURCE: Printing using various trays

Yes

Set tray (3? ) or other non standard paper type trays to type setting of letterhead and set normal paper tray (2) paper type to plain .

You do this on printer keyboad find menu then find paper handling, tray xxx, paper type. xxxx...set or tick

Via operations panel you can also printout current settings too to see if you have done the change if you do one before and after

Then test,

There are other settings on your printer that can effect this and driver configuation and doc type setting on pc that can effect this also but try step above first and report back if still having issues. Is it run by a server? Do you abity to change driver settings on your pc?

SOURCE: Stopping Auto Tray Selection

If you use different print materials of the same size in the trays, each tray with a different print material should have a unique paper type setting to prevent the printer from linking the trays together and mistakenly printing on the wrong paper.

From the printer's operator panel, choose the paper menu, then paper type, then select the source (ie, tray) that you want to change.

For example, if you have plain paper in tray 1 and preprinted paper in tray 2 and both are set up where size = A4 and type = Plain paper then when Tray 1 runs out it will automatically feed from Tray 2. To prevent this from happening you should change Tray 2 type = Letterhead. In this way, the printer knows that the two media types aren't identical and won't pull from that tray unless you specifically tell it to.

Make sure that you have tray 1 set for the correct paper type. Leaving the paper type as unknown will result in very slow printing as the printer will assume that it might be printing on heavy media, envelopes or the like.

When printing, the paper will start to feed and then pulls to the left, wads up and jams. This happens with both Tray 1 and Tray 2.

Hi You have a small paper jam in the front of your machine,
remove all the trays and the toners have a look under the machine in the place of tray 2 you will see a slot that the paper should feed in to. Fold a sheet of A4 in 1/2 lengthways push it in to the slot and with luck it will come out in the machine, holding on to both ends work the paper along the slot moving it up and down until your paper jam come out
if this is useful please rate me.

Tray 1 will not feed

Look at the tray 1 feed roller with paper in the tray.
Make sure that it is spinning.
If it is spinning, clean it with a damp lint free cloth.
Pull out tray 2 while you try to print from tray 1. Again make sure that the roller is spinning.
If it isn't spinning you have a problem that could be major.

I am getting the error code 13.05.00 on an HP laserjet CP3505n printer. The manual says that it is a front door jam. The jam is occurring every other time I try to print a document. The document is being...

13.05.00 HP CP3505N
Problem Solve. Same error. Generally either a real or phanton jam from the paper tray or manual feed tray.
SOMETIMES the manual feed would work but always one corner on the paper turned down when printed.
Remove toner cartridges and bottom paper tray
Turn printer on its back. The black plastic flap (about 9" long) that hangs down a small amount (near the white main feed roller) had one end most likely the wrong side of the small metal rollers above it.
This flap should hang about vertical. One end of it is most likely the wrong side of the small mostly metal roller above it. Each End of this flap should be about mid way between the two smaller metal rollers.
WITH CARE take a timber skewer and carefully encourage this flap back so that both ends are in the correct place
