My Lexmark pro 200 required a new cartridge. When I fitted a new one, the display indicated the cartridge was missing. I have cleaned the printer head,but problem not solved

If you have the old cartridge, put it back in the machine and see if you get the same message. If the message changes, then the problem likely has to do with the new cartridge and something being wrong with it.

This is common problem with lexmark cartridges they detect refilled cartridge you need to clean the copper contacts of the cartridge and then insert it if it still shows " color cartridge replacement required" message then you need to buy original color cartridge.........

Put new in cartridges in printer.
Page prints out blank.
Have cleaned the print heads 3 times.
Need help!

Honestly, if you have replaced the cartridge(s), then you have done all you can do.

Your printer is defective and it is now time to throw that one in the garbage and shell out another $100 on another printer.

I suggest an HP or Canon for your next purchase. They both make excellent printers that have a much lower cost per page than any lexmark.

Try to uninstall the software and reinstall but only the custom drivers for printing an any updated for them.

Brand new lexmark original cartridge is not recognised. error report' no cartridge'. all contacts cleaned machine dismantled and cleaned and reassembled. has done this before on occasion with refilled...

1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.

3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
3. Close the lid.
4. Power the printer back on and check the display.

4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.

5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.

I have a lexmark x8350 all in one.there is a color missing error

Hi,

Trying cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and clean the contacts on the printer use a dry tint paper towel to clean the contacts. Then try to reinstall the cartridge using the software. Next, lets try to print the self test.
Begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." This is essential. Then plug the printer back in and follow these steps:
1. Press the "Copy" button.
2. Press the "Menu" button.
3. Press the down arrow button once or until the screen displays "Maintenance."
4. Press the check mark button to select the "Maintenance" menu.
5. Press the down arrow button three times until the screen displays "Print Test Page."
6. Press the check mark button to select this. The Self-Test will start printing.
The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously.) Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail.

My Lexmark 4800 version x4850 says there's a cartridge missing!

This can be one out of two things. Either a faulty cartridge, or the cartridge holder. If you still have the old cartridge, insert that one. If now it only displays 'Cartridge Empty', it means that the printer can see the cartridge, and it's your new cartridge that is faulty. If it's still showing Cartridge Missing, it's most likely your printer that is faulty. In either case, you should contact Lexmark Technical Support and they'll provide you with a solution. 

You can also try cleaning the contacts in your cartridge Holder with a dry cloth.

Printer cannot find new black cartridge. Left cartridge missing.

The electronics are bad on your compatible and your printer can't recognize it's there. Return this cartridge and get your money back. The next cartridge you buy, ask if the electronics have been tested to be functional. I recommend refils from Cartridge World or Office Depot.

Missing Black Cartridge

hi..try these steps
1. clean the cartridge contacts in the printer..
2.unplug power adaptor(black box) from the bac of printer,,press and hold stop/clear button..plug the adaptor back in...display says clearing NVRAM,,,,after this printer would turn off and turn on automatically..reenter the intial set up details like language,country....
3.insert black cartridge...still same msg..printer is defective...call techsupport..your printer would be replaced if in warranty.

Cartridge problems with the P915 Lexmark printer.

Check that the contacts are clean. Also try another catridge. Even a new on can be bad...

Color cartridge error

Clean the needle-like contacts where the cartridge-contacts lean on when inserted in the printer.
And push them a few times with clean finger, maybe one of them does not push back on cartridge if the printer is not new.
If all "needles" are at the same level and clean, it should work, especially with genuine Lex cartridge.

If not, then the fact that this issue occured when using a compatible cartridge is pure coincidence and your printer has an age problem, maybe it can be solved by Lexmark specialist but the cost of repair will be higher then buying a new printer.
