SOURCE: Rinnai RHFE 1004F Error code 49

A 49 error code is caused by the pressure switch either not proving or a bad component. Check the hose attached from the plastic elbow located behind the heater going to a small square pressure switch found inside the heater. It may have come loose or a mouse may have taken a bite out of it. Also while you are behind the heater, pull off the hose that looks like a vacuum cleaner hose and run the heater with it unattached. If it runs, you have a blockage in the vent. If not, take a flashlight and go outside to the vent. Look down the center pipe for any obstructions. If it still does not work, you may need a new pressure switch.

While the front panel is off the heater, cycle the heater to attempt a start. You want to make sure the blower turns. If it does not, check the wire connections to it. You may be looking at a bad blower. If it is turning but still does not start, we are looking at a bad pressure switch.

Let me know what you find, I may have a switch or blower motor that you can purchase.

Yes, there is an Eprom setting that should hold settings up to 48 hours. You can find a manual by going to www.rinnai.us.

SOURCE: Rinnai 1004 F Error Code 11

Code 11 is that the unit is trying to light but does not sense a flame after 5 seconds. Usually means you have run out of gas if you are bottled gas. Check your bottles are turned on if you are on LPG, you might need to change over manually. Have you anything else on gas?

SOURCE: Rinnai RHFE-263FA showa error code 11..Replace

Error code 11 denotes ignition failure
Ignition Failure

Here is how you can resolve the issue.

1. Check gas supply, gas type, gas pressure. Verify gas supply and make sure gas lines are purged.
2. Check dip switch settings. Is the unit a converted unit?
3. Check condition of flame rod. If dirty determine why.
4. Check for flame current. (see flame current instruction in this guide) Ensure that all connections are tight.
5. Check all gas solenoids for proper voltage and ohms.

Blinking 12 and I have no manual to indicate what that means.

A 12 code indicates a "Flame Failure" check that the gas valve on the right side of the unit is turned on. If you are using propane have you confirmed that the tank has fuel? You may be able to download the owners manual from the Rinnai website. If not you can contact themat 1-800 621-9419.
This is a great heater and the Rinnai people will be helpful. good luck!

Code 12 on my water heater

code 12 is low gas pressure, or that the flame sensors are not picking up a flame, try removing the flame rods, in a rinnai infinity when you pull the cover off they are right in the middle, you can use a file to clean any carbon etc off,
