SOURCE: LiDE 600DF - Unable to scan

I think I might have solved my own problem, at least for the time being. If my theory is correct, then it might be a permanent solution.

I had been goint through the "CanoScan Toolbox 5" configuration line by line to see if anything would suggest a solution when I noticed that the "Folder for where temporary files are stored" had an enormously long path of C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Canon\TB50\...... By the time the temporary filename is added to the end, it may have exceeded the permissible length the system can handle. So I changed it to C:\Temp and it all started to work for me.

Worth a try for my fellow sufferers.

Use the PDF function of the CanoScan Toolbox. On the options screen for a pdf, click the drop down box next to “Save as Type:”. Select “PDF (Multiple Pages)”. This option causes CanoScan to stop after each page is scanned and ask if there is a next page or if you are finished.

My Canoscan lide 700f will no longer scan negatives

Hello try to reinstall the software for the scanner from here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/scanners/film_negative_scanners/canoscan_lide_700f#DriversAndSoftware

Please select your windows system 32 or 64 bit.
Download the driver and uninstall the old software before you install the new.

Canon does make an driver upgrade once a while to fix previous problems with the software.

Hope this will help you

Hello, I have a CanoScan Lide 200 which I love. Scanned images have been perfect. Yesterday, I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and now the scanned image is terrible and I am told there are...

You need the correct software for it, especially the RGB management

At 600 dpi my CanoScan LiDE 60 copies on my HP LaserJet 1020 prints an almost all black page - and a very compressed scan copy on one side of the paper. I have reloaded my drivers without success.

I have many years reparing Canon scanners maybe I can help you.

My first question is why are you scanning at 600dpi? 200 to 300 dpi will work just fine for you. When you scan at that high of the dpi the scanner slows down it will operate much faster at a lower dpi. Try scanning at a lower dpi and see if that corrects your problem. Also when you scan at that high your computer has to work harder to convert the image And the image will turn into a megabyte image instead of a kilobyte image and you will be able to store more images at the lower dpi on your hard drive. I hope this helps you out and if it does leave me some feed back.

Canon scanner

TWAIN is the type of scanner driver that is used for this scanner. It is probably the most common type of scanning driver.

Did you install Toolbox? Not sure? Assuming this is Windows, click Start, All Programs, Canon. Look for open CanoScan Toolbox (4.9 I think). Once this is open, click the 'Settings' button. There should be a drop-down menu for 'Select Scanner'. Make sure this shows the CanoScan LiDE 25. If that scanner is not listed, then the scanner driver is not being seen or may not be installed.

Once it has been verified that the LiDE 25 is selected, click OK. Next, click the 'Save' button. Check the box for 'Display the Scanner Driver'. Now click the 'Scan' button at the bottom.
The next window that pops up should be ScanGear. If this happens, then everything is installed and the scanner is being detected properly. Attempt to scan or preview.

If there was a particular application you were trying to use and you are still having issues with it, please give those details.

I'm using a CanoScan LiDE 60 and I have no idea even how to begin. I need to scan in 5 different documents with numerous pages and I was hoping to create a pdf for each. Can you help me get started?

Use the CanoScan Toolbox that shipped with the scanner. If you don't have it, then download it from the Canon Website. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=11446

If you don't have the scanner driver, then download that too.

Once you have Toolbox installed and you open it, there will be a PDF button. The scan to PDF window will open. If you're planning to do a multiple page pdf, then click the dropdown menu next to 'Save as Type:' and select PDF (Multiple Pages). You're now ready to begin, insert your first page into and then click 'Scan'.
