If you're saying the dehumidifier is not extracting moisture from the air?

There are 5 basic, yet solvable reason for this. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%. If yours is a manual unit, turn
the control knob to Maximum.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

If you decide to dispose of it. The land fill is not an option. The compressor has refrigerant gas in it and must be disposed of properly. Most cities and counties have drop off sites for this type of appliance.

How to fill with gas my de longhi type DH 40 pints. It works with R 22

You shouldn't be using R22 anymore as it is being phased out and is bad for the environment. If it is not working, you might want to call in a pro to do the job. They'll have to hook up the dehumidifier to a manifold to essentially **** all the R22 out, ensure that there are no leaks, and replace it with a R22 substitute. It's going to take a few hours, so be prepared to pay $$$. The alternative is to bring it to a municipal recycling center or whoever that will accept it and buy a new one. You can't just throw it away.

I have a De Longhi 8C70 Dehunidifyer. It is approximately seven years old. The pump is broken, when I flip the pump switch to the on position, the water no longer goes through the tube but drips into the...

Think the problem is with a clogged tube running to the drain, rather than a faulty pump.

To test this theory, first turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Using an 18" long, appropriately sized, plastic Zip Tie. Carefully insert it into the drain hole tubing and continue to push it in unitil you reach a bend in the tubing. Gingerly work it past this bend until the Zip Tie bottoms out or your run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull it back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will help break up any clogs. As you reach the tip of the Zip Tie, be prepared as some water may follow. Plug the unit back in and turn the unit ON. Set the control to Pump Mode and monitor the drain for water flow.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

De Longhi DE220 De-Humidifier not collecting water

Hi there - you have to vacuum the filter several times. You can pull it out of the back left hand side of the unit. Vacuum it several times, and then start the unit on the lower fan setting, at a humidity level of around 60%. It will kick in after a bit, and then you can start adjusting the humidity level to where you would normally use it.

Sometimes - after you have vacuumed the filter, it still doesn't work. I used my fingers to pick lint off the filter, and ran a BIC safety razor over it as well, to try and get more out of the filter. You can also wash the filter in warm water, and leave it to dry over night. Don't put it back in until it's completely dry.

This will work! Cheers... E
