I found this while trying to solve my exact same problem.. It worked for me after about 7 times. Some other people on the site said it worked for them after 20 times. Good luck!

My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.

I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps.

Is there a way i can restart my ex-s880 exilim camera so it will turn on?

Are you having problems getting it to charge if when you put it on the charger the red light blinks then try this : I tired it and it worked... If not you may needa new batt. Just plug the power cord into the craddle, not the usb. Then put the camera on the craddle and let the red light come on, but not long engough to let it flash. Repeat this like 10 - 12 times jsut putting it on for a couple seconds. This will boast the batt engough to let the camera software know that once you put it on the dock that is is suppost to charge

My casio ex s880 won't turn on. when i put it on the charger cradle the red light flashes (it normally doesn't flash). Also when its on the charger it'll let me view my pictures on my memory card it just...

It happened to me. I fixed it by luck . Here is my way . fully charge the camera till the led turns green. "IMPORTANT" unplug the power of the charger first, then remove the camera from the cradle . Then I pressed power button, it worked.
Wish good luck to you too

I had this exact same problem. Here's a solution. I had to do it about 7 times and others on Amazon said they had to do it about 20 times. But it does work! My light is a solid red as we speak! Good luck!

The red light that indicates its charging keeps flashing

How old is the battery? Keep in mind they aren't meant to last for more than a year or two, regardless of how often they're used. Generic replacements are actually inexpensive these days. Here's some from Amazon:

Casio Exilim battery won't charge

Casio batteries have a issue and are very weak you should not let it get below 5% when it is this low the camera will come on say battery is low and turn off. if it remains this or lower the battery can go out the good thing is you can get them really cheap off ebay.
