Hi, my sony cybershot dsc t100 won't focus on the macro option though it does on the extra macro. The green focus lines don't appear in the macro mode, wonder if there is a fix. Thanks

Even if its in macro mode, the lens has its limitation, where it only focus at a certain minimum distance, might as well use an macro lens extension

SOURCE: sony cybershot DSC-S50(not focusing)

After reading other solutions on this same error message, I decided to follow the advice of one that did not require taking it to the shop and having it repaired. I hit the barrell against the table with two good whacks, and it the error message disappeared. The zoom now works and so does my auto focus and manual focus. Problem solved, believe it or not. I held my breath because I was scared I would break it, but now it's fixed.

I don't have a repair manual but I can fix your LCD if you got one. If you don't have LCD, I got one to replace. Let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.

SOURCE: my sony dsc-t3 cybershot has vertical lines on the display

This is a problem known to Sony. They had a recall on the T3 because of it. They extended the recall, however, the extension ended in about March of '08. Some recall - You had to stumble on it at their web site to know about it!
I got my T3 repaired in May of '08, but had to pay shipping both ways to Laredo, the nearest Sony repair place. They insisted on insurance, so it cost almost as much as their flat fee repair of $121.
They fixed the camera, but it didn't focus as well after that. I didn't realize that 'til after their 30-day repair warranty period was up.
Here's their email, if you want to wrestle with them:
[email protected]
Recently I began getting "Turn power off and on again" message. It's a common problem, but again, Sony offered no suggestions. They basically wanted $121 to fix it.
The FixYa site helped me "fix" it by flipping the lens cover open (down) with my finger when turning it on.
I am not buying any more Sony cameras, and will probably sell this one with a disclaimer. There are too many trouble-free high-spec cameras around to fool with Sony-baloney. They've gone too far downhill.
I'll probably get a Canon S90. It's almost the same size as the T3 and much higher-spec.
Hope this helps!

Cybershot H7 focus problem

Things to check before you assume it is a mechanical issue-you can get vibration message if flash is disabled, be sure also that the macro mode is not enabled-this is very common on sony cameras to turn on by accident-flower button on camera will put in close up mode and you will get blur make sure no flower is present on lcd screen-if in macro press button on camera w/flower to turn off-also in menu you have continuous and monitor auto focus settings try changing one or the other and see what happens
