Assuming unit has cooled down, unplug for 5 minutes and then plug back in. If code still flashes and door doesn’t unlock, there’s a problem with latch associated parts, the control board, or wiring between the 2.

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard 4 dishwasher - clean light blinking

I have the same problem. I called the repair guy and he told me how to do a diagnostic check on it to clear the problem out and let it run a cycle to see if it fixes itself. That cleared my problem with the light but unfortunately didn't fix my problem. Press the heated dry button, then press the normal wash button. Press the heated dry button again and press the normal wash button again. Then let it do its thing. If all the lights go out and it does not run a complete cycle, then press normal wash and start to see if it will run the cycle. To speed up the test cycle, he said you can press Start several times slowly to get it to go to the next cycle one at a time. You will see the red lights change from sensing to washing to drying and so on until it goes to clean. Then try to wash some dishes and see if it works. If that didn't solve the problem, he said it could be that there is food or other items stuck in the bottom and needs to be cleaned out. Just remove the spray arm on the back and top of the dishwasher by the 2 screws and take it out of the dishwasher. Then remove the screws at the bottom and take the screen out to get to the tray at the bottom to see if there is food stuck in there. Pay attention to how you took it apart though, so you can put it back properly. Also check the spray arm and run water through it to remove anything that might be stuck in it. If that doesn't solve it, he said it could be the heater or your motor or possibly wires burned out. I am looking at trying to remove my motor now to see if I can replace it and check that before I pay any money unnecessarily. My repair guy is so busy that he tries to help me over the phone before he comes out. Great Guy. He said that if it is the motor, the charge to replace it is not worth fixing, but if the repair is only 100 to 200, that is definitely cheaper than the cost a the same kind of dishwasher I am planning on purchasing to replace it. They say that because the do not want to work on it. A lot of times they do charge more than it's worth though, so you have to get an estimate concerning your worst possible problem before hand so you can make up your own mind. Hope this helped you. Now I will see if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the motor from my Kenmore Quietguard 4 Dishwasher. Have a great day.

How can I get self clean to start?

To Self-Clean Using AUTO-CLEAN

1. Press AUTO CLEAN.
2. Press the HOUR and MIN "up" or "down" arrow pads to set the desired self-clean cycle time.
3. Press START. The oven door will automatically lock. "CLn," "LOCKED," "ON," "CLEAN," the Cooktop Lockout icon, and the time remaining will be displayed.
4. When the self-clean cycle is complete "END" will be displayed, and "PUSH"/"OFF" will blink alternately.
5. Press OFF/CANCEL. "LOCKED," "END," and the Cooktop Lockout icon will disappear from the display. "PUSH"/"OFF" will stop blinking, and clock will show the time of day.
6. Once the oven is completely cooled, remove ash with a damp cloth.

I hope this helps and thank you for a model number that made this possible for me to assist you. Good Luck

Whirlpool gas range self-clean cycle produces FSE1 on display and door doesn't lock, audible alarm sounds

I found this on an appliance forum. It sounds the same as your problem. They say the code is F5 E1. Apparently the door lock latch is stuck.

FSE1 CODE just popped up on the stove and the latch started going back and forth and the interior light would go on and off. We weren't even using the stove or oven when this happened. What does

The F5 E1 error message indicates the latch motor was unable to lock the door. When the self clean cycle is started, the control board will turn on the latch motor which is mounted on the rear of this range. The motor is connected to a cam that transfers the motors motion to a rod that runs under the cook-top. Here is the part to order.

Amana EvenAir Convection Plus Self Cleaning Oven will not unlock.

My oven was locked and would not open. No lock light was on but the oven was clearly locked. F9 error when I hit certain buttons.

Try this. I unplugged the oven for about 5 minutes. Plugged back in. A LOCK light came on. Held down "Oven Cancel" for a few seconds. Door opened and lock light went off. No more F9 error when I hit those buttons.

Oven door won't unlock

I had the same problem on my Kenmore Electric Range. Door would not unlock. Tried pressing "Off" for multiple seconds, but still would not unlock. No error codes. Clock was displaying normally. Finally decided to try running it thru the self cleaning operation to get it to cycle thru locking and unlocking the door. When I started self clean, the door automatically went thru the auto lock and "locked" appeared in the display. I then hit "Off" to clear it and stop the cleaning cycle. The door then unlocked as normal!
