Have you just changed ur battery? If not i would suggest replacing the battery, in the mintime switch off the pc remove from power supply remove the battery. Connect to power again and try switching on without the battery. If it works fine, switch off and put back the battery and try switching on again if it happens again u need to find another battery. Good luck.

no PC stated. why? if over 7 years old 2 batteries are due ,ok ?
leave the big battery out, why make this so hard, removing , (its old shorted overloaded the VRM regulators) leave it out,
    now boot, this always first
ever see a battery short as it warms up sure
    and then overloads,
just take it out 2minutes work and is always first. (batteries can fail vast ways and be intermittent and have shorted cells) learn that in be successful.

then if it still fails, (vast single point failures on PC, endless, battery is 1st always
    no PC stated at all
why post lacking such a key fact
NO OS, stated but you forgot sure.
if the PC fails to run windows, if is windows
and fails to reach windows login screen

    ms locked.
    does MS locked mean
login screen snows, but the box to type there is dead? or you lost the password.
we cant see your screen , nor errors on the way to this screen.
back up data and do a full recovery?

you sad battery is charged fully !
I say you don't know that'
I can in fact hand you 10 bad batteries,
right now and the silly charger thinks it good, and fully charged.
learn that, and test with the battery out first. to prove PC works on AC then if yes,
buy anew battery some last 1 year.
my last one lasted 2 y
    and the before aw 1y.
all expected by me after all IT'S STINKING Batteries.

the 10,000 post of yet one more battery bites the dust.... would make nice song.
    other one,
an other one, bites the dust (rimshot bam)

  • Anonymous Feb 07, 2019

if it fails after big battery out.
    next run HDD tests.
if those pass run the manual guide stated recovery, rtm ,read the manual

  • Anonymous Feb 18, 2019

FIRST OFF NO PC even stated at all, just
    (A COMPUTER)(one of 10,000 models by Lenovo)
    the recovery window pops?
that means the OS could not boot.
It means, HDD is bad, or OS corruption, or even a bad shorted battery (big one)
why not pull the battery first.
1: big battery out, still fails.
2: IN BIOS FIND THE Hdd TEST. RUN THAT.
    IF HDD FAILS ITS BAD.
3: In a real shop we boot Linux media(usb) and run full smart test on any suspected hDD bad. if HDD is bad or weak, its 100% a waste of time going forward with recovery using the recovery partition. or fresh install.
the New HDd must be inserted (exchanged)
if the HDD tests pass. we the open the book
on your unstated PC and read the chapter called
RECOVERY, it does in fact show all ways to do so, if you can read.
at "Lenovo support" page on your PC.

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2019

no,OP, the battery is not fully charged it is a bad battery, bad batteries fool the charge chip inside PC. (no charge chip ever made is as smart a any fully trained technician or engineer)
not one. (someday ,.maybe but not now)
pretend in your mind you are a battery.
and all cells inside are now 1/100/th of new capacity, and the silly PC thinks(sick) it's charged. the poor thing...…..
or as most do this , this old short out. and overload the power rails inside causing
    electronic CHAOS.
learn to test all laptops with no big battery first ,learn that, do that and win.
its like 5minutes work remove it and test .
on AC pack only, or even run like that forever.

  • Anonymous Feb 26, 2019

the error means the HDD can not boot
    there are 3 causes.
    1: HDD bad.
    2: OS corrupted.
3: kids played with it and bingo deadsville.

  • Anonymous Feb 28, 2019

NO PC even stated, just PC.
    Lenovo.
impossible to go farther lacking such a key fact, full model numbers off the service tag.

nor guess.
why not first remove the battery huge.

run on AC pack only
see it works like that endlessly does it?
the first thing to fail is that. shortlived. NO PC stated no OS stated no screens shown strike #3 im out.

im guessing the OS is corrupted, non stated

when recovery pops that means files corrupted.
bad hdd, or virus hit.

SOURCE: Notebook will not boot

If I understand what your problem is...
I had the same problem, it was a caused by bad Windows XP install CD.
Call Gateway and explain the situation, you may need to have a magnifying glass handy to read the tiny engraved lettering in the center of the CD disk.
Have your 'Product Key' available.
If you have some kind of sales receipt, or other "Proof of Purchase" have it handy too.
You will need to tell them, you do not have the program installed on other computers.
They can send you another disk.
This method will only work if you have a legal copy of the program.

User Profile Service service failed after factory reset and unable to access troubleshoot services: Windows 10

It seems that your computer is stuck in a boot loop and you are unable to access the troubleshoot services. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Disconnect all external devices from your computer, except for the keyboard and mouse, and restart the computer.
  2. If that does not work, try to access the Advanced Startup Options by holding down the shift key while clicking on the Restart option in the Start menu.
  3. If you are unable to access the Advanced Startup Options, you can try to create a Windows 10 installation media on a USB drive using another computer and then boot your computer from the USB drive.
  4. Once you are able to access the Advanced Startup Options, you can try using the Startup Repair tool to fix any issues with the boot process.
  5. If that does not work, you can try using the System Restore tool to restore your computer to an earlier point in time when it was working properly.
  6. If none of these steps work, you may need to consider reinstalling Windows on your computer.
It is also possible that there is a hardware issue causing the problem, in which case you may need to take your computer to a professional for repair.

My Lenovo tablet won't start again. It is charging and has a full battery. A black screen flickering after the LENOVO name is shown. Is there a possibility to give it a HARD RESET.

Hard Reset

1-Unplug the device and power off by holding the power button down
Wait 5 seconds, then

2- hold down both the volume up and power buttons (volume up is the side of the long button that is closest to the power button), until you see a screen with “Select Boot Mode” text on it. When you see that, release both buttons.

3-Press the volume up button to move the arrow until it is pointing at the “Recovery Mode” option, then press the volume down button to select it.

4-The “android” logo should appear for a few seconds, then you should be in the “Android system recovery” menu.

5-Use the volume up / down buttons to highlight the “wipe data/factory reset” option, then press the power button to select it.

6-Use the volume up / down buttons to highlight the “Yes — delete all user data” option, then press the power button to select it.

7-Once that has completed, you should be returned to the “Android system recovery” menu. Make sure the top option, “reboot system now”, is selected, then press the power button to select it.

8-The device should reboot and display the “android” logo, followed by the swirling coloured dots. You can then plug the device back in and wait for it to boot up. This will take a long time (up to around 5 minutes).

9-Once the device has booted back into the app, you should be able to set up the wifi, log in with your credentials and re-download your property data.

Lenovo Y410, It does not boot. Throws error: There was problem in staring windows due to some error. How do I get to start windows in safe mode?

Welcome to FixYa

It seems that you are having problems booting to windows. There are a number of steps you can try to fix this issue.

1. boot to safe mode. Start tapping F8 right after the computer turns on. This would cause the system to boot to windows advanced boot menu. Once you see the advanced boot menu then just choose safe mode. If you managed to boot to safe mode then you can perform system restore from here. To run system restore just click on start, all programs, system tools, then click on system restore, once system restore has been launced choose a date when the computer was working fine

2. You can also try to boot to windows recovery environment. to do this keep tapping F8 right after the computer turns on. choose the option "repair my computer". The system would now boot to windows recovery environment. From here you can run startup repair and system restore

3. If none of the above steps work then you can use the One Key Recovery feature of a lenovo Y410. Please note that this would reset your computer to its factory image so this would cause you to LOSE DATA on the system. Before you use this feature make sure that you have a back up of all of you data. Note that the computer must be turned off. Press the NOVO button on the computer. refer to the image for its location on your computer

malups_3.jpg
Pressing this button while the computer is off would launch the one key recovery of lenovo. From here you can restore the system to its factory condition.

Hope this helps

Hi my acer lap top is in safe mode and wont start if i buy a fix it cd will this work thanks alicia

Since you can boot in safe mode, teh you should try using the SYSTEM RESTORE to take it back to the day the problem started, try that first.
For example of XP: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

Insert your installer to the lap top then try to change the boot up priority by entering the bios. Try to press del key while your lap top boot. If these deosn't wok try F1 or F2 thesame process. If you have enter the BIOS, look for the boot priority which includes the First Boot, 2nd Boot and 3rd boot. Change the 1st boot to CDROM and the 2nd boot to hardisk. Software needed

Answer The power may be depleted fully or the Connect might be hung during boot. Charge the Connect for at least 20 minutes using the AC charger. If the Connect will not turn on after 20 minutes charging with the AC charger, you can then try using the Connect Recovery Tool.

The recovery tool will reformat and reload the latest firmware to the Connect. The tool and instructions are located here.

Note: Ensure the Connect is turned off by holding the power button 8-10 seconds before initiating the recovery sequence.
