SOURCE: Everything works but no display

Ah! My friend. you are lucky that you ask the right person. I have fixed so many V551 with LCD defect so this symtom is usual on v551 and most Motorola Flip phones. As you know, the construction of the LCD cable has been designed by a long ellectric thin wire and one side will connect into the main and CallerID smaller LCD and the other end will connect to the main board and the part in the middle will stuck inside the hinge where the flip will apply a lot of force for the function of open and close. for a long period of usage, it will either worn out the middle part of the cable or loose the connection of either side which cause loosing display. That is why you can call and receive but cannot see anything. The simple thing is open the case and check first at the main board side for any bad contact and tougher the other side is inside the main LCD. If you find both side are still good in connection then the middle part is bad due to flipping so many time of the user in order to open and close. YOU THEN NEED TO REPLACE THE NEW LCD. I have two solutions to help you in this case: 1) View on the link below for the instruction of how to open the housing. http://sbarth.dyndns.org/seiten/rahmen.php?nav=motorolahandy Sorry the link is in German but you can look at the picture to follow. 2) Or email me at joe_dao2003@yahoo.com if you want me to repair the phone for you. I will charge you for only $10.00 for labor fee and $5.00 for shipping. I am sure to make your phne back to normal or your money back. My shipping address is below: JOSEPH DAO P.O. BOX 390307 MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA 94039 USA If you want other way to help, let me know. I am sure you will be happy with your phone back to normal. I hope this help

SOURCE: "High camera temperature"

If there is a memory card inside the cad slot, take it out first. Open the camera. When the "high temperature camera" error appears, after it goes off, "BLOW AIR INTO THE CARD SLOT BESIDE THE CAMERA SEVERAL TIMES. I have blown air manually by my mouth. Then you can put back the memory card back or you can just simply Turn-ON sa camera. See if it work. It works fine for my CX7530 (i got this idea thru trial & error). Stupid kodak service center won't help, they just want to service my camera for almost half the price that i bought mine, & even suggested that i  should buy a new one.
I hope this works for you. ----kodak camera user from the Philippines.

SOURCE: display screen flashes "CHK" repeatedly

Hello.

From FixYa Support: The "ERR" message reportedly means a memory error.

Please NOTE: This solution will wipe out the memory.

Press the STOP and DISP/MENU buttons at the same time for about 2 seconds, and then the display should show "FOR". It will supposedly erase the whole memory, but will at least make the device usable again.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My AcuRite 00992 wireless weather

Double check the batteries to make sure they are installed correctly. If one of the batteries in the outdoor sending unit is in backwards, it will not send the outdoor data. On the indoor unit, there is typically one battery that is used for receiving the signal from the outdoor unit. If all of the batteries are in correctly but that one, you will see the display and the indoor temperature information, but the outdoor information will not be displayed.

New la crosse technology wind speed weather station model # CA87092 set up.wind speed and outdoor temperature showed until this morning.new batteries used yesterday in setup. what is the problem?

The instructions for your station call for a specific set up procedure. Batteries should be installed in the transmitter first with time allowed for it to initialize and begin sending data. After installing batteries in the receiver, you should see wind speed and temperature displayed. BUT, here in the real world I have a Lacrosse receiver currently displaying a balmy 67 degrees inside and a not-so-balmy - - outside. I believe the alkaline batteries used in the transmitter lose efficiency or freeze at low temperatures. Warmer weather restores the outside temperature display.

Model c87214. Why does it keep losing outdoor temp signal?

I have had that experience. You may have to repeat initial installation once more before concluding the system is n.g. Remove batteries from the indoor receiver. Review the instructions and verify transmitter was installed in correct location. Do this as you are removing transmitter batteries. For luck, install new batteries in the transmitter. At the receiver, reinstall batteries (or install new batteries). After approx. 10 min., you should see temperature displayed. My LaCrosse system has its wacky days, sometimes displaying no temperature or an abnormally high temperature when morning sun hits the transmitter. Also, successfully resetting is a once-in-a-blue-moon affair.

Why does outdoor temperature display only show = signs?

The outdoor sensor probably uses solar energy to charge a battery that powers the wireless transmitter. The battery may be defective or the charging circuit may have failed. The instructions that came with the station could provide some troubleshooting tips.

What does an OF symbol mean in the indoor temp window with no readings from the outside?

Based on a different, but similar, LaCrosse model (the WS-8611), it would appear to be an OverFlow indication, meaning that it's out of range. Here's a quote from that unit's manual:

SPECIFICATIONS:
Temperature measuring range:
Indoor : 14.2F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-9.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution)
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)
Outdoor : -39.8F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-39.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)

It is likely that their convention remains the same across models, but I don't work for them, so I can't guarantee it.

The sensor from my weather station is not registering outside temperature

I've had the same problem since I bought this unit 2+ years ago; when the outside temperature moves into the freezing zone, the sensor stops transmitting. I contacted Lacrosse-- all they could suggest was change the batteries. My solution: throw it in the trash!

Cannot get the weather station model ws-916ou-it to show outside temperature

I have three of these WS-916OU-IT units. After a few years, the outside sensor just fails. You will get dashes and a "TR" low battery signal, even if the batteries are good
just buy another whole weather station (short money) and set both the old and new weather station unit to receive from the single new outdoor sensor.
To do this - just follow the procedure for a single sensor - that is - put the batteries in the new sensor - then within 30 seconds - put the batteries in all the weather stations - they will all pick up the same outdoor sensor.
I now have three units running off of one outdoor sensor.
Seems a bit silly, but it works.
