My Kitchenaid Juicer model KJE500 won't start. I used it last year and just took it out for this year's lemon crop.

Juice content of the fruit you are using. Try with Granny Smith apples and make sure they are this season and not last years. Also try the juicer with oranges to prove it is the apples and not the juicer. Also try peeling the apples as a test. The skin can block the strainer. Another trick, run the discarded pulp again.

is simple, you dont need an manual. clean it, put it at work. writw at manufacturer or seler.

Needs to be serviced and the seal replaced ,juce can corrode parts very quickly , so don't store it in this condition .

Push the reset button underneath - this worked with mine when the same happened to me; I only realised it was there after changing the fuse, which didn't fix it. I turned it over and found the button and voila!

Using a screw driver remove screws to detach the thing that locks the attachments into place. You will see a rubber seal around the socket in which the auger is fitted. Remove the seal and put a little oil on it. Replace everything after doing the lubrication.

What does the manual say? Depending on the item your putting in is whether or not you have to peel it or not. Typically no, you don't peel the fruit before using a hand juicer, but it it's a matter of taste.
I don't peel mine.. I aim to get all the vitamins and minerals that i can obtain from fresh fruits and veggies.
Some oils in the peel are making the juice bitter though, you have to do a trial and error on that. On Lemons because the white pith on the lemon (just under the yellow bit) can be quite bitter, and it will inadvertantly end up in your drink.

It will not cause you any problems if you do not peel the lemon. It's just a matter of taste. I just looked through all my juicer manuals and "Juiceman" says to leave them all on except for oranges and grapefruit due to their "extreme bitterness". My Waring manual (the one I use now) says you can do it either way but recommends you buy their citrus reamer. The other manuals say to peel them.

yea you can usually find those manuals if you cant get one from the manufacture web site try just typeing it in to a search engine google, bing, yahoo etc. it may take you a while but if you look hard enough usually you can come up with something. I would type "KitchenAid KJE500 owners manual" into the search engine like a said it make take you sometime but everything is on the net somewhere.

Took the machine apart piece by piece and figured it out myself

FIRST DUMP THE FILTERS, THEY DECREASE YIELD AND MAY CAUSE MORE VIBRATION.
IF JUICER SHUTS DOWN PUSH RESET BUTTON ON BOTTOM. THIS TYPE OF JUICER DOES
NOT EJECT PULP AND REQUIRES SOME TIME TO MASTER. FEED THE STUFF SLOW AND
STEADY. WANT A GOOD JUICE? TRY 1 APPLE, 2 CARROTS, 2 CELERY AND A HALF LEMON.
IF YOU ARE REALLY BRAVE YOU CAN FINISH OFF BY SLOWLY POURING 6 OR 8 OUNCERS
OF WATER RIGHT DOWN THE CHUTE. THIS NOT ONLY DILUTES BUT LEECHES MORE JUICE
OUT OF THE PULP. JUICE SHOULD BE DILUTED AND DRANK SLOWLY.
