You may have had a surge, please go to your breaker box and turn of the breaker for that device- it might already be tripped. keep it off for 1 minute and the reapply power by turning the circuit breaker back on and try to operate your unit.

Hey worken_man
Try pressing the start button for about 15 seconds. If nothing happens its very likely that the transformer on the controller is busted. If you know how to get to the controller check the primary side (high voltage side) for open circuit. The easiest thing would be to change the controller and not fuss with changing the transformer

The answer is the following. We had a temporary blackout and after this "STOP" appeared with no other signs of life and none of the buttons responding. The function knob on the left had side should be turned to "0" and after this is done, push the center button - I did this by a complete fluke and everything came to life again. After being a photocopier service engineer - let me tell you that this is probably a deliberate piece of electronic engineering to earn Whirlpools service dept. a bit of extra money.

I read a similar story from the site where an owner waited 15 minutes before switching the machine on again. That worked. A mystery!
try resetting the clock, it may have gone into auto timer mode.
