this fault code ind a door lock problem ,hence this is why it wont start , it thinks the door is not closed , id say the door latch mech. needs service
This could be a Control Board failure and this where I would start. I would try to recycle 120VAC power to the washer and see if that will restore operation.If that doesn’t clear the issue then I believe your Control Board has failed.Do you have surge protection at the washer 120VAC outlet? Have you had any recent electrical storm activity? The Service Manual can be found on this site follow the link I’m attaching. The Control Board is under warranty for 5 yrs from date of purchase.I got Maytag to send me a Control Board, I passed their owner technical savvy test.If you are the original owner, call Maytag customer service at 1-800-462-9824www.maytag.com.They will ask you for your serial number that is found on the top right back side of the console.They will give you a number to call for authorized Maytag repair.I would insist that the repair service to bring out a Control Board on the first visit.The part number 25001217 for all FAV6800AW series. If your machine is a FAV9800AW LCD display flavor different part number The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. Unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control. if the control continues to remain locked, this will confirm board failuer and, you will need to replace this control board.
It helps trying to actually weigh your dirty linen. Try to wash within what is mentioned in your manual. Also see that the door is closed firmly. Would be useful if you'd post back results.....
