So I have a Kitchenaid washing machine #KHWS02RMT0. Lately it's been noisy during spin cycles. Today I ran a load of towels and when I came back to my machine it was silent but when I looked in there, it looks as though the wash drum has dropped. I took the towels out and they were soaking wet still, with a fair amount of water still in the bottom of the drum. Do you have any answers as to what could be wrong? The drum won't spin freely if I try to turn it by hand, which it would normally spin smoothly.
Suspension parts are bad or basket is rusted out
Broken support springs and most likely a worn out drum bearing. You really need to take it apart to determine the needed parts for repair. You can contact www.repairclinic.com for help in the repair and needed parts.

SOURCE: Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only
Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

This is a fault that resides within the motor control board. you will need to replace this failed module asap if possible. it has failed.

HI,
move the kicking plate on the front-bottom of the machine. You will see
o circular lid there, turn it on anti-clockvise to open. All of the
water blocked will come from there, be careful. Look carefully that
there are some objects blocking the water draining. Then turn on the
machine on draining programme, the plastic rotor should turn fastly
when the machine is on. If it is not running, change the pump motor. If
it is running, but machine is not draining again you can understand
that there is an objeck stuck on the hose between drum and pump motor.
Lay down the machine on its rear facade, you will see a large and black
hose between drum and pump motor. When you remove it, you will see that
there is something that blocks water running.
thank you for using fixya, rate my answer,

It is so common that the washing machine can make
terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is
important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the
identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is
vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be
inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it
is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually
turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the
drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which
include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be
in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the
mounting is also very important. Finally
in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve
most issues.
