The operation lamp shows and when the start button is pressed the dryer does not come on aeg 56600
SOURCE: Dryer will not start properly, buzzer operating
more than likely your timer is faulty too much to replace most timers about same price to replace your dryer if not cheaper
SOURCE: press the start button on dryer, it hums but wont
Sounds like a weak motor. You'll have to get a new motor installed. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install yourself on that type of machine if you are handy. Motor is located in the bottom right of the machine, attached to the drum belt through a small pulley underneath the drum next to the motor.

HELLO THERE:
The most common problems with this problem is that there is a fuse that has blown in the dryer or that the door switch has failed and needs to be replaced or the timer switvch or the motor it'sef has went out (NOT LIKLEY) THOUGH
Or THE dryers push start button is faulty
so please check these things out and replace any parts that are found to be defective
Hope this is very helpful for you best regards Mike

Hello, welcome to FixYa.
On the AEG dryers there actually are fuses for the heating circuit, usually two.
If you remove the back odd shaped cover as you stated you had to check the heating element and trace the wires leading to/away from the element you should find a couple of fuse links in series with each element.
Also when replacing that back cover it is crucial the seal be in good condition as this will render your efforts futile once you re-install the back panel be allowing air to move across the element in a manner it shouldn't.
I will also inform you to check for negative air pressure in a room/closet not allowing enough make-up air to flow across the heater/fuses. ( if it's in a room closed, make sure there is a vent in the door or some other air supply for make-up )

Environmental tips
• In the dryer, laundry becomes fluffy and soft. Fabric softeners are not therefore needed
when washing.
• Your dryer will function most economically if you:
– Always keep the ventilation slots on the base of the dryer unobstructed;
– Use the loading volumes specified in the programme overview;
– Ensure you have good ventilation in the installation room;
– Clean the micro-fine filter and fine strainer after each drying cycle;
– Spin the laundry well before drying.

Let me know what you find or if you have any trouble understanding my post so I can clarify.
I'll try to provide further assistance should you need it.
P.S.
Sorry about the font change, it happened after "pasting" the AEG environment tips and I couldn't undo it.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Dryer not starting, when I press the start/stop
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
There are a couple of scenarios which may prevent the dryer from starting with Bosch,one you mentioned and no it doesn't depress in, it just resets it...but with the most common there are two thermostat's/switches which could be reset, ( plus a no reset hi-limit on the lint housing not so common )... i.e.
...which cannot be reset, but the hi-limit is the one related to heating you rest already...located on the heater housing and the other (emergency shut off/belt switch) is by the motor shown below.
Anyway,
To save time and back and forth dialog, I`ll mention the most likely and what to do about it.
**Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair tips suggested here please...safety first**
There is an auto shut off or emergency kill switch next to the motor I alluded to which will prevent it to start in the event it was tripped for whatever reason. This is the most likely scenario in my opinion based on your post...but again it depends on your model. This will require you to remove the back panel again though. Once you've remove the rear panel, It will look like this image below and all you need to do is push it to the right ( from the back )...
i.e.
Since you`ve already taken the back of the dryer off before to gain access you should have no problem.
Either Scenario I alluded to will require the removal of that panel so let me know if you require further assistance to do this.
The other would be resetting the hi-limit cut out, You can see through the back vent opening when the vent tube is removed ( cannot be removed without removing rear panel the first time, but if attached a certain way can be done each time after ) and then by pushing the red button in...shown below.
i.e.
Keep me posted how you make out or if anything is not clear or if your model is completely different...some have line fuses at the back.
Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
