In most of the case, the problem is defective LED back lights strips.

SOURCE: 42" lg lcd tv pitcher flickers then gos black

Since the audio is still working, the main power supply probably
wasn't at fault and you may be looking at more research and possibly
more expense.

The problem is very likely on the largest board or with a failing
circuit that is part of the display.

You may be able to isolate it by using 'freeze spray' which you can
buy anywhere electronic parts are sold.
I suggest more than one can of it; ~ $7-8/can.
You will need to have the guts exposed and the set turned on.

Look around the edge of the display itself for chips (ICs) and give
any you see one brief shot of the spray, wait for ~1 minute for it to
'soak' and then move on to the next one.
If the video comes back, even if only briefly, repeat the cool-down
until you are confident to have found the right one.

If you can isolate it, you still have a problem.
If the sick IC appears to be 'glued' (with solder) onto instead of
through the board, you may not be able to replace it successfully.
If you can see that it has pins going through the board, these can be
replaced by anyone with a professional soldering tool and a steady
hand.

Remember, the problem can be on a board that is only connected to the
display panel but if on the panel itself, you may not be able to buy a
replacement for less money than a new set would cost.

What do you think is wrong with my television, it has sound but no picture. How can I fix the problem?

Hi there
I would go to menu on the remote , from there to picture go down the list, if you do not find anything there to help you. Go to Support and to the E manual .

Rca pitcher gos off and sound stays onl lite blinks 5 times twice thep pic comes on for a few min and repeats

This is surely an error code generated by TV computer and your only way to see what it is is get the maintenance manual (maybe from the TVs website). Probably not worth fixing if you need to take it to the shop. I just bought a 40" LED TV for $199 and the minimum diagnostic is often quite high. Worse, the repairs are getting much more expensive due to manufactures not wanting to stock small repair parts. So even if it is a small cheap part broke, they only can replace large expensive modules (if at all).

sounds like inverter board. What it sounds like is happing is your LCD is working ut the backligkt board that allows you to see is kicking off. (as you still have sound) Which could be the (most likely) inverter board, or the power supply board. You can take apart and check for voltage at your power supply. The power supply has a pigtail with large white wires and a connector. Power up with the center back cover off and check your voltage at the white connector on the power supply before and after the screen gos out. If there is no large voltage loss it is your inverter board.

You can used boards on e-bay or

No pitcher

The power supply is not providing enough voltage to the back inverter board due to leaky or dry capacitors in the power supply.
The power supply will need to be replace or repair to restore the LCD functionality.

Samsung Projection TV

You need to take out the DMD bord and open it up then remove the DLP Chip very carefully and blow out under the chip and all the components in the box with dry air something with a dryer on it then reassemble the chip on to the bord and make sure that the three screws that holds the mount that houses the chip are snug then you will need to put the Bord back in and have someone Else watch the pitcher so you can center the pitcher. This happened to me with my samsung tv and ran across this in sum service notes for this problem. Hope this helps
