Sorry to burst your bubble, but you CAN'T rebuild the coil, for a multitude of reasons. It's THEORRETICALLY possible, but pragmatically IMpossible. Trust me, I know. Yes, your speaker is glued together (with VERY strong glues. When you dismantle a speaker you have to replace many parts including the surround and spider...). With that said.... There ARE shops that can repair speakers (and, no, they generally don't handwind coils...), but they are far and few and pretty expensive. A base model sub like that would't be economical to repair. I don't know where you're at, but the only one I know of is "The Circuit Shop" in Grand Rapids, MI. feel free to google them and call for a quote.

SOURCE: how do you wire four 12 inch kicker cvr dual voice

Hello brysonford00,

The wiring configuration depends on what final impedance you want the amp to see. If the subs are 4ohm DVC's, you can wire them to present a 2ohm impedance or an 8ohm impedance. The diagrams are here. If your subs are 2ohm DVC's, the wiring is the same. The impedances will be 1ohm and 4ohms.

Hope this helps.

I just bought a cvr kicker 10' sub, hooked it up in my car replaceing a polk audio sub. The kicker keeps blowing my fuse. i have checked the wireing. i have an 800watt sony xplode amp. Please help

i am assuming that you bought this sub used? their could be a problem with your voice coil. the voice coil moves the cone of the speaker in and out. the problem with the voice coil is that it has become lose and is doping the impedance of the sub. A lose voice coil can be cause by over powering the sub. this problem is not fix able.

One of my 15" cvr

if the unit completely stopped working try connecting the speaker to the working speakers connection, if it still doesnt work then you have seized the speaker, basically the driver is shot and the speaker is dead. you might have a warranty but usually you can smell the burnt coil. turn down the gain and the frequency on your amp as it is not properly tuned and will cause dame like this as well. if you are not certin take the car to a install shop and have them tune and balance you system for you.

If they are single voice coil and are 4 ohm you can bridge your amp and run both speakers off of it so your amp sees a 2 ohm load....better bass that will hit harder....(series wiring) look it up on google....

Kicker cvr 12 sounds clangy at high volume. its on the right speaker. seems to go away when you push on the back of the box

Hmmm... well there could be an air leak in your box, something hitting the suspension inside the box like a broken tensil lead or most likely you have a voice coil that's getting ready to **** out. I've heard this many many times and usually that's what it is but I've been suprised by a broken tinsel lead a time or two.

I've got 2 blaupunkt amps pushing 2 10" kicker cvr. the only problem im having is that when i start my truck the "protect" lights comes on for about 2 min then it switchs to the "power" light, it that just...

The wiring could be wrong, it sounds like you have taken the live feed from ignition, the main feed should be direct from the battery with an inline fuse as close to the + terminal as you can, the earth lead should be as short as you can from the amp to the chassis, and the remote lead comes from the head unit.

I have two kicker 10s cvr and the wires came off from the inside, from speaker to the connecter? are they worth fixen there not blown just wires came off. There 10 months old

They are soldered on at the factory. There are times that the soldering job isn't done perfectly. If you do end up re-soldering them there may be an insulation covering the leads that will need to be burned off the lead. The insulation is the discoloration on the lead. When you do this, hold onto the lead with a weak pair of needle nose pliers to reduce a potential failure later.

My wire got pulled off my sub how can i fix it

Hello gatmanfromda,

I'm assuming you mean the "tinsel" lead going from the connector to the sub cone. In many cases, the wire can be soldered back on. It takes care and patience and you need to be sparing with the solder and prevent it from stiffening the tinsel lead. Otherwise it will tear out again when the sub cones moves out. If the cone itself was damaged when the lead pulled off, you can use silicone sealant to repair it. Again, be sparing with the silicone and allow it 24 hours to set up before trying to operate the sub. If the wire pulled off from the connector terminal, just solder it back on.

Hope this helps.
