Check the flood switch first. It will stop the dishwasher but you may hear a moter running.

SOURCE: G879 Miele dishwasher does not startup

I found the solution by phoning Miele. You just have to reset as follows: switch on with program 2 and 3 pushed in. Then push top solo twice. Switch off and on again. The Miele is ready to go.

Main supply to house was turned off for a tap repair, now dishwasher will not fill with water and does not work on any program.

Hi,is there a isalating valve on the pipe that might be turned off before the dishwasher inlet pipe,if its not painted it will be silver with a sloted grove in the middle, the slot should be faceing in the same way as the pipe,if it dose not go the same way as the pipe it is switched off and will need to be switched on,if there is not one just try switching machine off at wall and switching on again and see if that works,I take it that the dishwasher is showing that it has power.

Hi
You have had a water overflow or leak which has triggered your flood switch. You need to disconnect the machine and pull it out. Throw plenty of towls on the floor and tilt machine back to empty the water from the base.
Hard to say where the overflow or leak is from. You need to reconnect machine while it is out of cabinet and run the machine to see if you can pin point a leak. Sometimes a burst drain hose.
Otherwise the front and side panels may need to be removed as the leak may be internal.
Other time a faulty PCB, faulty inlet solenoid which sticks or a faulty pressure switch or clogged pressure hose are the reasons for machine overflowing. Bad door seals can also cause machine to leak.
Therefore, there are a raft of items which can cause machine to overflow or leak.

Disconnect the fill pipe from the back of the machine and you should see a small mesh strainer in side the dishwashers inlet valve. Check that this is not dirty - to clean it pull out the strainer and rinse under the tap.

Dishwasher leaks at start

Is the washer not "over filling" due to the water fill vacume pipe and micro switch that shuts off the water once the correct level blocked or restricted due to fatty residue? This could also be one of the washer pipes clogged up and increasing the pressure in the fill tank.

Washer starts program but sound much noisier than

Suggest you check the water pressure out the pipe, then clean the inner sieve which is usually in the valve inlet. if all is clean and still little water enters, i would replace valve. Also, chech the pressure switch line an make sure it is not partially filled with water.

Dishwasher trouble

Hello trichild4eva,
Welcome to fixya,
.
You said, The water is not coming into my dishwasher, you have checked the inlet pipes etc and the water is going through them, just not making it into the dishwasher

What is the BRAND and MODEL Number and year of your dishwasher. Model can be found on sticker inside.

Did you turn off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes to see if it resets the system?

Here are four things to check for this problem!

Water source turned off
Check to ensure the water source is turned on and water is getting to the water inlet valve.

Float switch
The float switch allows water to enter into the machine to a point where the float will rise up off of the switch and disconnect power to the water inlet valve. If the switch is defective or the float is stuck in the up position, the water will not enter into the machine

Defective water inlet valve

If there is 110v across the two wires on the water inlet valve when the machine is set to fill, the valve should open and the water should enter into the machine. If the water does not enter, the valve is defective.

Defective Timer

The timer is a series of switches that controls all machine functions. If one of the contacts in the timer is defective, the machine will lose that function. knowledge of the the use of a vol/ohmmeter is essential to testing the timer as well as the ability to read the timer sequence chart that is supplied with the machine. In most cases this requires a professional technician.
