Usually when any 'wrong' voltage enters a circuited system it's bad news unless there's a breaker or fuse that 'popped'

Because of the micro-voltages used, the electron path will be destroyed with a higher voltage input is applied and this will damage every component until the 'weakest' link burns out so trying to inspect the board for the fault isn't in your best interest. If you cannot source a replacement board for cheap then your best bet is to replace it...sorry. Good luck!
