That is the specific use of WD40. Spray it when it is warm and the kerosene will evaporate and leave the waxy protective coating behind.

Yaaaa... I know what you mean. Please know (OFTEN) there is LOTS of moisture in the bathroom air so the insides of these scales and other items get contaminated and RUST!

Your scale has reached "EOL" or end of life.

I know of no scale that is RUST resistant? I am not saying none are made... just none I know of.

Changing the temperature scale from F to C: - - Turn on the thermometer - If the unit is already on, make sure it is not in the memory mode - Press the ?/MEM button and keep it pressed. Then press and release the activation button to switch over to the "change temperature scale" mode. - By pressing the activation button again, the opposite scale will be activated. Each further pressing of the activation button rotates the measuring scale

You did not provide a model number however the Instruction Manuals for the various Braun Thermometers can be found here:

Not sure if this procedure is common to all but this may work otherwise find the manual specific to your model number.

Changing the temperature scale

This thermometer is shipped with the Celsius temperature scale activated. If you wish to switch to Fahrenheit ( °F), proceed as follows:

Turn on the thermometer. ( If it is already turned on, make sure it is not in memory mode.)

Press the /mem button and keep it pressed. Then press and release the activation button to switch over to the «change temperature scale» mode.
By pressing the activation button again, the Fahrenheit scale is activated, «°F» is displayed on the LCD. Each further pressing of the activation button toggles the scale between °C and °F.
Release the /mem button to return to the ready symbol . The temperature stored in memory will automatically be converted to the selected scale when displayed on the LCD.

It could be a receiver issue, the cord, it might be a faulty receiver or alternatively it could be plugged with wax or badly affected by moisture. Receiver issues are relatively common with Siemens, if you have cleaned out the tip and are confident it is not a moisture issue, the receiver has failed. it is an easy fix and your audi should be able to change it out on the spot.

this is the problem with moisture. and the circut is broken. i think the repair is costliar then new one
