If you are using rechargeable batteries change all batteries to normal batteries If you are using cheap generic batteries change to brand name batteries. Clean all contacts carefully with WD-40 Contact Cleaner

SOURCE: wont turn on

IT COULD VERY WELL BE THE BATTERIES YOURE USING. IF NOT YOU MAY NEED REAL TECH SUPPORT. I ALWAYS USE DURRACEL ...CHEAP BATTERIES ONLY LAST A FEW DAYS. AND 1 DAY IF YOU USE THE VIDEO.

SOURCE: CHIRP EVERY 30 SECONDS EVEN

Unfortunately you will need to replace thew unit. CO alarms have an effective lif expectancy of about 4 years. After that point they are no longer reliable or accurate and should be replaced.

SOURCE: My hard wired smoke alarm has had a new 9 volt battery installed and even a second new one installed and is still chirping 4 times every 30 seconds.

On many of the newer smoke alarm installations, all of the units are wired together so that if one goes off, it triggers all of the others so that no matter where you are you will definitely hear the maddening noise of the alarms! And if one of the other units has a bad or weak battery not only will it chirp but so will the others.

Only way around this is to cut any and all wires going to each smoke detector. They will still work because each has its own battery but there will be no more triggering of other units.

I installed a new smoke alarm battery only 3 weeks ago. It started chirping yesterday. New battery and it has not stopped chirping since.

The battery you installed may be defective or expired, replace it again with a major brand like Energizer

try replacing the batteries again and make sure they are in correctly-ive put them in more than once and found out it was the brand new batteries that were bad and also installed them incorrectly too

My Kidde Model 1285 keeps chirping even after I changed the batteries, any ideas why?

Be sure you are using a well known brand battery. The store brands, in my my opinion generally are not quite up to par. Try this and see if the chirp will stop. Thanks for asking me.

Rental mgmt company just installed Kidd 112020/40/80 (don't know which one. It does the same thing the previous smoke alarm did - wakes me up in the middle of the night! It chirps every hour, every 30...

They only chirp for two reasons:
1. The sensor is past its useful life and needs replaced
2. There is a power issue with the battery. Even the ones that are hardwired into the electrical system need a battery.

My alarm is chirping every 30 seconds. This is my second one. no light .

An intermittent chirp usually indicates that the battery needs changing, or a battery needs to be installed. If this is a new unit that came with the battery already inside, there is probably a tab located between the top of the battery and the contacts that needs removing before the unit will stop chirping.
