You have a common problem in the DM (Digital Module), more specifically the DM power supply. There are four electrolytic caps in that supply 16v/1000uf that are bad and likely buldged from heat stress. Replacing these caps and the E2P module, a small stand-up board further back on the main DM board should restore normal operation...
You might be lucky enough to have a tech come out and simply replace those caps in-home. It's not a really big job for a qualified tech.
Hope this helps!

I had this problem, but saw other places that it was a cheesy capacitor on the power supply circuit board causing this. I opened it up and took the power supply board out and it was obvious which capacitor was bad...top was bulging and had black stuff on it. It was rated 2200 uF @ 25V...got a new one @ Radio Shack that was 2200 uF @ 35v. Soldered it in (I stink @ soldering, but gave it a shot and it was EZ). Watching the first weekend of college football w/o waiting on a flashing green light for up to an hour so the TV would start! I'm going to try to find the other websites that directed me to this to say THANK YOU...BTW my brother used to have fits with several Magnovox TV's and thier power supplies back in the old tube style TV days. I thought I didn't need to worry about this with an HD flatscreen, but was wrong. I will think twice before buying a Phillips/Magnavox/Funai/whatever else they are again. They have a long list of complaints and I believe a class action lawsuit to refer to about this problem. They should have stepped up and done something!

This problem very common in sharp tv.The POWER,OPC flashes.First turn on have power LED indicator light stable at all? Tries the power again couple times will have backlight come back on,than it will work. Not at all more than 5-6 times than ur main turner signal board is the problem, must replaced.
Testimonial: "Took a part back panels looking at the circuit board power capacitors, plugged in TV to power outlet, and powered up normally."
