I was researching a similar answer and discovered that the left side ear piece actually is actually held together with 3 torx screws that are visible upon removing the ear pad and the padding surrounding the driver. I haven't had a chance to attempt a fix yet but remove those screws and see if you can open the ear piece.

I just recently got a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-ANC27 headphones and I've noticed that when I touch the detachable cable the sound shorts out and plays through one side of the headphones.

There is a wire in the detachable cable that is broken inside so might have to cut and rejoin the broken part.Thats why when you touch the detachable cable you happen to move the wire so sound is only transmitted to one ear phone only.

Thanks and good luck

All of a sudden sound is not coming in one of the channels (right). On pressing the headphone's band a bit sound comes on and goes off.

The cable connects to one headphone and then through the headband to the other side.

I sounds like the cable connecting them that runs through the headband has been damaged.

The only solution is the try and remove the cover from the headband and repair the cable.

Please leave feedback

Most headphones have screws that hold the earpiece shells together, look under the earpads for them.

How do I open Audio-technica ATH-911's? One of th...

hi.
First of all: This headphones don't have a single srew. So be extremely
carefull as everything is glued !

#1 - Removing the logo plate
This isn't need to reach the wires. Just for cleaning purposes.
Remove de soft ring-pillow from the earing.
Remove the textil thick black ring that is glued by the internal outside gently.
Look for the three black metal small wings that belong to the logo plate and
are inserted to the internal side and are glued and/or bended. Unbend them.
Then pull this wings in order to extract the plate by the outside side the logo plate.

#2: Accessing the speaker and it's wires.
This is a very carefull procedure. A mistake and you'll have scrap instead!
Remove the soft ringed pillow from the earing. In the border that the black
sinthetic leader was inserted, insert a medium screwdriver. Gently swing
the driver up and down in order to separate the plastic disc that supports
the ringed pillow from the outside hat of the earing. Do this in circles for
a couple of times or until you begin to ear the glue lightly cracking. After
this the plstic disk separates from the outside hat and all the electric
wiring and speaker are free to repair.

NOTE: A piece of advice: do NOT use instant glue or cyanide glue to
re-assemble. It would be the last repair!

Lost sound in the right ear of my audio technica ath-d40fs

The most common problem with earphones are the wires. Usually near the end. You can carefully open the headset to expose the wire connection, and check for continuity.
