The vhs has started to have a snowy picture and the sound doesn't work. I tried a vhs cleaner tape, but that did not help. Any suggestions?

How do you fix a showy VHS

If you are experiencing issues with a snowy VHS tape, here are some steps you can take to try to fix it:
Clean the VCR heads: Over time, the heads of the VCR may become dirty or clogged with debris, which can cause a snowy picture. Try using a VCR head cleaning tape or a soft, lint-free cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the heads.
Adjust the tracking: Use the VCR's tracking control to adjust the alignment of the tape. This may help improve the picture quality and reduce snowiness.
Replace the VHS tape: If the tape is old or worn, it may be causing the snowy picture. Try using a new or different VHS tape to see if the issue persists.

I have a couple VHS-C tapes that drag

This may be caused by a faulty adapter. 1. try playing in the camera. 2. try a different tape. 3. try a different adapter.99% this is a problem with the adapter or the tape. It really sounds like the tape isn't turning freely, which can be caused by a brake sticking, or spindle in the tape or adapter.

When I playback what I have recorded via camcorder or through tv it is so snowy you can not watch it through a video player it is perfect

Have you tried cleaning the camcorder heads?

Try putting vhs-c cleaner in your local ebay..... such as (in UK) ....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VIVANCO-VHS-C-Camcorder-Head-Cleaner-Buy-1-Get-1-Free_W0QQitemZ310201454774QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Photography_CamcorderAccess_RL?hash=item48397290b6

Particles from the tape get lodged on the head over time. Its not special to VHS-c - its common to all tape products. Usually a good clean (say 3 - 4 times initially, plus one clean every 20 hours use, or so) prevents the accumulation of residue.

LG RC195 dvd/vhs combo

Do you just get a snowy screen when you playback? I think the first thing to try is to clean the video heads. Either try a head cleaning tape, but these are not always the best thing, better still is to remove the lid & carefully using a head cleaning fluid (isopropal alcohol) & a thin piece of card or head cleaning stick (NOT a cloth), carefully & gently wipe the heads which are on the round silver drum. Do not use too much pressure or you will damage the heads, give it time to dry (couple of minutes) & then try playback.

I have a Samsung DVD/VHS player and now the video does not work on the VHS. The sound is there and the DVD player works fine. What can I do? Ed

If you have sound on playback & the picture is snowy then I think it appears the video heads are dirty. Try a video head cleaner or better still, get them cleaned by a service centre. You can try to clesn them yourself but you need to be careful you do not damage the heads.

Snowy picture, are heads dirty if so will head cleaner work, could there be another problem other than dirty heads?

if it is your heads, a head cleaner tape slowly grinds down your heads. Abrasion bad. Take to shop and have them clean heads with solvent and soft cloth or Q-tips. Might not be your heads, much electronics, but sounds like might be.
